Job Purpose The Senior Civil & Structural Designer is responsible for independent execution, coordination, and technical leadership of civil and structural 3D design activities using E3D, Revit , SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) and Tekla Structures, ensuring compliance with project requirements, international standards, constructability, and schedule commitments across EPC projects.
Responsibility 3D Modeling & Design (Core Role)
- Develop and manage 3D civil & structural models using SP3D and Tekla Structures.
- Model RCC foundations, pipe racks, equipment foundations, buildings, platforms, stairs, handrails, and steel structures.
- Ensure alignment with plot plans, equipment layouts, piping loads, and vendor drawings.
- Apply approved project specifications, material grades, and modeling standards.
- Handle greenfield and brownfield design constraints.
Deliverables Development
o General Arrangement (GA) drawings
o Foundation drawings
o Structural steel GA & fabrication drawings
o Rebar detailing (where applicable)
- Generate and validate MTOs / BOQs from SP3D/Tekla models.
- Support interfaces with fabrication and construction teams.
Interdisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation disciplines.
- Resolve clashes and layout issues identified during 3D model reviews.
- Support model review sessions with clients, licensors, and PMC teams.
- Ensure constructability and maintenance accessibility in design.
Technical Leadership & Review
- Guide, mentor, and technically support junior designers and draftsmen.
- Review models and drawings for quality, accuracy, and standards compliance.
- Support Discipline Lead in execution planning, work allocation, and progress monitoring.
- Incorporate lessons learned and best practices across projects.
Quality, Standards & Compliance
o International standards: AISC, ACI, IS, BS, Eurocode
o Client and project specifications
- Participate in model freeze milestones, audits, and quality reviews.
- Ensure timely resolution of comments from clients and third party reviewers.
Software Skills (Mandatory) • E3D, Revit , SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) - Advanced (Structural & Foundations)
- Tekla Structures - Advanced (Steel modeling & detailing)
- AutoCAD / SmartSketch
- Navisworks or equivalent 3D review tools
- MS Office (Excel for MTOs & reports)
Technical Expertise • RCC foundations (equipment, pipe rack, buildings)
- Structural steel (pipe racks, modules, platforms)
- Interface with structural analysis & design inputs
- Experience in EPC project execution environment
- Exposure to fabrication driven modeling using Tekla is highly desirable

Qualifications
Diploma / bachelor's degree in civil / Structural Engineering
