The Academic Counsellor plays a pivotal role in engaging prospects and participants, guiding them through their early-stage journey, ensuring they are well-prepared for advanced programmes, and acting as their progress partner throughout the process.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Academic Counsellor who can engage with both prospective parents (in our pre-enrollment programme) and participants (currently enrolled in our programmes) to ensure they understand, progress, and move toward the appropriate next level offerings.
The role demands empathy, clarity, and strong communication skills as well as the ability to create structured plans and track progress effectively. As an Academic Counsellor, you will play a key role in shaping the parent’s experience and ensuring they understand the journey ahead.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Engagement with Prospects (Pre-Enrollment Programme)
- Guide prospective families through the pre-enrollment phase.
- Provide clear explanations of programme structures and outcomes.
- Understand each family’s needs, challenges, and expectations and align them with the most suitable programmes.
- Provide insights and counsel parents on the developmental journey for their children.
- Assist prospects in navigating through different stages of the program to prepare them for enrollment.
B. Progress Partner for Enrolled Participants
- Serve as a progress partner for enrolled parents and children in various stages of the programme.
- Track their progress and ensure consistent implementation of the learning and therapeutic strategies.
- Regularly follow up with families to ensure milestones are being met.
- Address challenges or concerns and provide appropriate solutions.
- Coordinate with clinical and programme teams to ensure alignment between the parents' needs and the curriculum.
C. Facilitate Transition to Higher-Level Programmes
- Identify when a participant is ready for a transition to a higher-level offering (such as moving from Breakthrough Flightpath to advanced stages).
- Help parents understand the transition process and ensure they are prepared for the next phase.
- Ensure smooth handover between levels by providing detailed progress reports to relevant programme coordinators.
D. Relationship Building & Client Support
- Build strong, supportive relationships with parents, establishing trust and fostering open communication.
- Offer ongoing support and be the first point of contact for any program-related queries.
- Help create a positive experience by ensuring clarity in communication and personalised support.
E. Documentation & Tracking
- Maintain clear, structured records of each family’s journey, progress, and interactions.
- Track milestones, issues, and outcomes, ensuring nothing is missed.
- Provide periodic progress updates and insights to the leadership and programme teams.

Technical Skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems and basic data tracking tools

- Proficiency in using Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel for documentation and tracking
Preferred Background
- Previous experience as an academic counsellor, parent coach, or in education-related client-facing roles
- Experience working with neurodevelopmental programmes, parent coaching, or education systems
- Knowledge of child development, psychology, or educational frameworks
