Job Responsibilities :
You should always know where the resident are. Be watchful at all the time
Never leave the resident unattended at any given time.
Take every opportunity to communicate with the residents with a smile.
Be polite, compassionate and caring at all times.
Ensure that the resident is well groomed every day. Bath and shave the resident
Ensure to maintain the personal hygiene of the residents. You are responsible for changing diapers for residents as and when required.
Ensure the catheter is not pulled after changing resident’s diaper.
Responsible for taking the residents to go to the washroom as and when required.
Bedridden residents are to be assisted in giving bed pans.
Responsible for bed making and changing linen as and when required.
Ensure to change the residents clothing when soiled and responsible for sending soil clothing for laundry. Ensure to receive the clothes back & keep accurate account of resident’s linen.
Ensure that the residents clothing, bed and surroundings are kept neat and clean.
Ensure the resident is given right diet as per their diet chart prescribed by the Doctor/ Physician
Keep a watch on the eating habits of the resident also find out if the food needs to be blended or mashed. If the food bought is in excess or less kindly inform the Medicine Nurse
Ensure that residents do not fall or wander alone.
If you are responsible for taking care of two or more residents please ensure that you keep a constant check on all the residents at regular intervals.
Make sure the bed rails are up if the resident is sleeping.
If any furniture is broken or lights need to be replaced, it is to be informed to the Admin In charge
You should report to the Admin In charge on daily basis.
When you find any abnormal behaviour with any resident you should immediately report it to the Medicine Nurse.
You must take proper handover about your residents details from the staff in previous shift, such as if they have slept, eaten or any behaviour that need to be watched.
Before starting you shift, make sure that the bed room, the furniture’s & residents clothing are clean and tidy.
Check residents cupboard for linen and ensure that all the residents clothing have name tag. Return the residents clothing if found in the wrong cupboard.
Make sure you come to duty well-groomed and in uniform. You should maintain short nails, hair should be tied neatly. & wear appropriate foot wear. Also make sure you talk politely to both residents and staff. Do not Scream or speak in loud voice.
Ensure that you are fully aware of the residents and for more information you are required to collect the same from the Medicine Nurse.
You are not supposed to disclose any information about the residents to their relatives. For all information regarding the health and treatment of the inmate only the Medicine Nurse is allowed to discuss with the residents relatives if required.
You should not use your mobile phones during working hours. People can contact you at the front desk number.
You should inform your leave 24 hours in advance to the Centre Incharge.
Any other responsibility assigned by Trust as and when required.
