The objective of the Regulatory Business Self Testing (RBST) team under Financial Crime COE within Global Governance, Risk, Remediation, and Operations (GRRO) is to identify, assess, measure and monitor as well as report and escalate compliance risk within GMS onboarding processes to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, Amex policy and enhance the BU's resilience through managing a clear methodology of inherent and residual risk.
RBST team is looking for an Analyst focused on global KYC testing for evolving KYC refresh and partner-related testing activities and analytical capability within the team. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of relevant experience in regulatory testing, Business Self-Testing (BST/RBST), operational risk, control testing, compliance testing, Internal Audit or a related risk and control discipline.
Good understanding of regulatory testing and control-management principles, including risk identification, testing methodology, evaluation of evidence, identification of gaps and remediation.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, provide guidance to testers/analysts and coordinate delivery without necessarily having direct reporting-line authority.
Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards.
Experience interpreting testing results, identifying exceptions and risk themes, and developing clear, evidence-based conclusions.
Strong stakeholder-management and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional and highly matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous.
Experience in at least one of the following:
Experience with regulatory testing involving areas such as AML/KYC, merchant/customer acquisition, data protection, regulatory compliance or other financial-services regulations.
Facilitating risk assessment performance in addition to further assessments and testing programs to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met
Experience using SQL, Excel and data analytics to support risk-based testing, identify populations, select samples, validate results or identify trends and anomalies.
Compiling thematic risk reporting to provide actionable insights on risk levels, emerging trends and root causes
Knowledge of American Express businesses, processes, systems and the GMNS control environment would be an advantage.
