Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounts

The Role

We are seeking an accomplished and result-oriented Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounts to

lead our Finance & Accounts operations. This role requires a hands-on finance professional with

deep expertise in accounting, taxation, financial reporting, compliance, and process

optimisation.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the

ability to manage end-to-end financial operations while supporting strategic decision-making for

business growth.

You will need good inter-personal and communication skills to explain procedures, processes

and analysis to non-finance.

Your Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Financial Record Keeping - Management Accounts & Close

Support the month-end close process - preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and

intercompany entries for review.

Assist in producing the monthly consolidated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, including

first-draft variance analysis and commentary.

Assist with elements of the group consolidation process, including intercompany

eliminations and multi-currency translation, with review from senior team members.

Meet close timetable deadlines for your assigned areas, managing your own workload

and flagging any risks to the Senior Financial Accountant promptly.

2. Balance Sheet Reconciliations

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for your assigned entities - fully supported, clearly

evidenced and ready for review every month.

Keep reconciliations up to date throughout the month, identifying and following up on

reconciling items promptly.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

Oversee and ensure timely filing of statutory returns, including:

GST (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2A/2B reconciliation, GSTR-9 & 9C)

TDS returns

Professional Tax (PT) and other applicable compliances

Assist in preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with applicable laws and

regulations.

Coordinate with tax consultants and auditors for assessments, audits, and filings.

3. Preparation of Financial Statements

Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including:

Profit & Loss Statement

Balance Sheet

Cash Flow Statement

Work closely with the Head Finance & Accounts to analyze financial data and prepare

management reports.

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.

Track actual performance against budgets and highlight variances.

Support forecasting activities by updating projections based on actual results and

business conditions.

5. Internal Control & Audit

Implement and maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets.

Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.

Support internal and external audits by providing required documents and explanations.

Reporting & Financial Analysis

Generate periodic financial and MIS reports for management review.

Analyze financial trends, identify discrepancies, and recommend areas for improvement.

Support decision-making through accurate financial analysis and reporting.

Key Competencies

CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification is mandatory with 3-4 years of PQE or MBA in

Finance with 5-6 years of experience or Inter CA with 5-6 years of experience

Hands-on experience supporting month-end close activities - journals, balance sheet

reconciliations and management accounts

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and compliance

Strong Excel skills, with the ability to work confidently within a multi-entity group

management accounts model.

Familiarity with Sage Intacct or an equivalent ERP system.

Team management and leadership skills

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Good communication and coordination skills
