ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a newly created leadership position established to stand up and scale a Quality Control function within our offshore India operations team. As Head of QC — India, you will be the on-the-ground owner of output quality across all geospatial, CAD, and telecom infrastructure deliverables produced by the Bangalore team.
You won’t be starting from a blank page. Our U.S.-based QC team has established standards, processes, and best practices that have been refined across hundreds of projects. Your job is to deeply understand those standards, champion them within the India team, and work hand-in-hand with the U.S. QC leads to adapt and scale them for an offshore production environment. This is a collaborative build — you’ll be a key voice in shaping how QC evolves as India capacity grows, but you’ll do it in close partnership with your onshore counterparts, not in isolation.
Because of the cross-timezone nature of this role, you will work an adjusted schedule providing a minimum four-hour daily overlap with U.S. Eastern Time (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST / approx. 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM IST), enabling real-time collaboration on priorities, reviews, and delivery status.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Serve as the primary QC lead for the Bangalore production team — owning day-to-day quality review of CAD drawings, GIS datasets, fiber network designs, and engineering deliverables before they leave the India team.
- Learn, internalize, and champion the QC standards and workflows developed by the U.S. QC team, ensuring the India team applies them consistently and correctly across all project types.
- Work closely with U.S. QC leads during the daily overlap window to review process guidance, align on edge cases, escalate recurring issues, and contribute India-side insight to ongoing process improvements.
- Adapt and localize QC workflows for the offshore environment — identifying where processes need to be documented more explicitly, where tooling can help, and where additional training is needed on the India side.
- Develop and maintain QC documentation for the India team including review checklists, error logs, quality scorecards, and training materials based on U.S.-established standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor QC reviewers on the Bangalore team, building a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement grounded in the company’s quality standards.
- Track and report on quality metrics — first-pass rates, error patterns, rework frequency — and bring data-backed recommendations to the U.S. QC team for joint process refinement.
- Act as the quality gatekeeper for outgoing India deliverables, owning final sign-off before work product is submitted to U.S. project managers or clients.
- Identify systemic quality gaps or training needs within the India team and coordinate with the U.S. QC team to address them through targeted coaching or updated guidance.
- Provide regular structured updates to both India operations leadership and U.S. QC/project leadership on team quality performance and open issues.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or technical degree in Civil Engineering, GIS, Geography, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in CAD production, GIS analysis, or geospatial engineering — specifically in telecom or utility infrastructure contexts.
- Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, quality control, or technical review roles, ideally leading a QC team or function.
- Strong working knowledge of CAD platforms (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation) and GIS tools (ArcGIS, Global Mapper).
- Familiarity with fiber optic network design concepts including aerial and underground infrastructure (poles, conduit, ducts, handholes, splice enclosures, etc.).
- Proven ability to read and evaluate engineering drawings, spatial datasets, and field-collected data for accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills — comfort presenting findings, risks, and recommendations to remote stakeholders across time zones.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to build team culture, motivate reviewers, and drive accountability without direct oversight from onshore.
- Highly organized, methodical, and detail-oriented — with a genuine commitment to quality as a professional standard, not just a process step.
- Comfortable working a non-standard schedule that includes a consistent 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST overlap window (approximately 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM IST).
NICE TO HAVELocation: Bangalore, India. Working hours adjusted to include daily overlap with the U.S. Eastern Time zone (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST / approx. 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM IST). This is an in-office or hybrid role based in Bangalore.
- Prior experience in a cross-timezone offshore/onshore team structure.
- Familiarity with LiDAR point cloud processing, ortho-rectification, or remote sensing data validation.
- Experience implementing or working within ISO, Six Sigma, or other formal quality management frameworks.
- Exposure to permitting workflows, as-built data integration, or municipal/utility client deliverable requirements.
