This role is for a Full Time Retail Store Sales Staff in Amritsar. The Assistant Manager will be working with a staff team of 10-15 people, and working in the sales segment of the firm.
A successful candidate in this role has the following qualities:
- Able to smile, welcome, and make a client comfortable
- Has current affairs knowledge to talk to customers and make them comfortable
- Quickly learn and remember the basics of the trade
- Able to do quick math and use calculators to understand pricing and selling
- Able to read a customer via body language, and understand their needs
- Able to be extremely patient with the customers as sales can often take many hours
- Able to ask for help in closing when needed
- Able to put own ego aside and cater to the ego of the customer

About the Role
We are seeking a warm, patient, and deeply relationship-oriented Jewellery Salesperson to join our luxury showroom floor. This is not a transactional sales role; it is a relationship-first position that requires genuine curiosity about people, a calm and unhurried presence, and the ability to guide customers through a meaningful, high-value purchase experience. The ideal candidate understands that building trust and establishing long-term client loyalty is the priority before any transaction takes place.
Working hours are 10:45 AM to 8:45 PM, Monday to Saturday. The pay range for this role is between ₹16,000 and ₹25,000 rupees per month + Performance Based Bonuses, dependant on experience. A successful candidate needs to be extremely well groomed, confident, punctual, responsible and able to build rapport and execute quick mathematical calculations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Premium Hospitality: Warmly welcome patrons, ensuring they immediately feel comfortable, valued, and at ease within the showroom.
- Rapport Building: Initiate authentic conversations and adapt topics based on the client's background, personality, and social cues.
- High Emotional Intelligence: Actively read body language and emotional cues to anticipate client preferences and unspoken needs.
2. Consultative Sales & Closing
- Product Selection: Expertly consult clients across diverse collections, understanding what they want and accordingly showing pieces.
- Objection Handling: Address questions, concerns, and hesitations with patience, clarity, and poised persistence. Maintain honestly without high-pressure tactics.
- Collaborative Closing: Maintain full energy and focus through extended sales consultations, knowing exactly when to engage senior colleagues or management to assist with final closures.
3. Commercial Awareness & Financial Calculation
- Pricing & Analytics: Confidently execute quick, accurate calculations and mental math for multi-item pricing bundles.
- Internal Formulas: Learn and master the showroom’s pricing matrices, including daily gold rates, making charges, and stone valuations.
- Balanced Negotiation: Navigate commercial discussions fairly and confidently, working effectively within established business baselines to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
4. Floor Command & Market Awareness
- Operational Command: Professionally direct showroom helpers and support staff during a sale to optimize presentation flow and counter environment.
- Trend & Current Affairs Tracking: Stay informed on global news, economic updates, commodity fluctuations (gold/precious metals), and seasonal trends to facilitate natural, high-level conversations with discerning clients.
5. Administrative & Ledger Support
- Transaction Logging: Document basic accounting entries for completed sales accurately.
- Billing Assistance: Collaborate with the billing department to verify invoices, receipts, and ledger compliance.
Required Qualities & Skills
- Patience & Demeanor: Exceptional patience and calm, unhurried energy—essential for navigating comprehensive, multi-hour client consultations.
- Communication & Articulation: Native or near-native fluency in spoken Hindi and Punjabi, along with strong professional communication skills in English. Seamlessly switch communication styles between Hindi, Punjabi, and English to match the comfort level of domestic and NRI clients.
- Mathematical Proficiency: High comfort level with computational skills, spreadsheets, and retail calculations.
- Floor Leadership: Ability to maintain professional boundaries while respectfully commanding support staff to ensure elite service.
- Impeccable Grooming: Sharp, sophisticated personal presentation that mirrors the standards of a premium heritage brand.
- Prior Experience: Proven experience in luxury retail, fine jewellery sales, premium hospitality, or high-value customer service sectors is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Diamonds, and ciompletion of jewellery courses is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: ₹16,000 to ₹25,000 per month + Performance Based Bonuses
Salary Type: Fixed Monthly + Performance Incentive once a year
