Job Description:
The Tender Senior Executive (EPC Solar & HT/LT Electrification) manages the end-to-end bidding process for solar energy and electrical substation projects. This role involves analyzing tenders, estimating costs, coordinating with technical teams, and submitting winning proposals for High Voltage (HT) and Low Voltage (LT) electrification works and ensuring timely submission.
Key Responsibilities1. Tender Sourcing & Analysis
- Track Opportunities: Scan e-procurement portals (GEM, ISN-ETS, state DISCOMs), private networks, and newspaper advertisements daily for relevant Solar and HT/LT RFPs.
2. Technical & Commercial Bid Preparation
- Documentation: Compile, organize, and authenticate all required documents (legal, financial, certificates, and past experience credentials). [1, 2]
- BoQ Estimation: Collaborate with the engineering team to review Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for solar PV systems, inverters, structures, transformers, HT/LT panels, switchgear, and cabling. [1]
- Costing & Pricing: Coordinate with procurement teams to get current market pricing for materials and logistics to build accurate, competitive commercial models.
- Bid Submission: Manage final review, encryption, and error-free submission of online (e-tenders) and offline bids before the deadline.
3. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Pre-Bid Meetings: Attend pre-bid meetings to raise technical/commercial queries and clarify ambiguities with the client.
- Partner Management: Coordinate with joint venture (JV) partners, consortium members, and critical OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for sub-vendor quotes.
- Internal Liaison: Act as the bridge between Management, Engineering, Legal, and Finance teams during the bid lifecycle.
4. Post-Bid Management
- Query Resolution: Draft precise technical and commercial clarifications requested by clients during the evaluation phase.
- Reverse Auctions: Participate in live reverse auctions and electronic price negotiations to secure the project at optimal margins.
- Handover: Transition won projects seamlessly to the Project Execution team by handing over the finalized BoQ, design considerations, and contract obligations.
Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills
- Deep understanding of Solar EPC systems (on-grid, off-grid, rooftop, utility-scale).
- Strong knowledge of HT/LT electrical systems, substations, transmission lines, switchyards, and cabling up to 33kV/132kV/220kV.
- Expertise in navigating various government e-tendering portals and digital signature certificates (DSC).
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams (SLD), layout drawings, and technical specifications. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Soft Skills & Core Competencies
- Attention to Detail: Zero-tolerance for paperwork errors that could lead to technical disqualification.
- Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple tight deadlines simultaneously under pressure.
- Negotiation: Sharp commercial negotiation skills for vendor quoting and client interactions.
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering. An MBA in Power Management or Operations is a plus. [1]
- Experience: 4 to 7 years of core experience in tendering, estimation, and bidding specifically for Solar EPC and HT/LT electrical electrification projects.
- Feasibility Screening: Analyze technical and commercial qualification requirements (QR) to determine the company’s eligibility to bid.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential financial, regulatory, or technical risks embedded in the tender clauses.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per year
