Job Description: SAP Solution Architect
Overview
Position Title: SAP Solution Architect
Location: Hyderabad, India
Work Schedule: Second Shift (provides a half-day overlap with Chicago, USA time zones)
Department: Central Enterprise Architecture (EA) Team
Role Summary
The SAP Solution Architect (T2) is a core member of the central Enterprise Architecture team, operating within the global "Design Authority" process. Rather than focusing on localized deployments, this role is responsible for reviewing proposed system changes from a global solutioning perspective. The primary mandate is to analyze proposed solutions in-depth, ensuring they are "Clean Core Compliant" by relying strictly on standard SAP features or established architecture patterns, and providing alternative standard recommendations when necessary.
This specialized role focuses heavily on Direct Procurement and Template Build initiatives, encompassing raw materials, packaging materials, co-manufacturing, and complex intercompany processes.
Experience Requirements

Dedicated, solution-centric SAP architecture and implementation expertise.

Proven track record of success with at least two full-cycle SAP implementations delivered for external customers or global organizations.
Key Deliverables

Solution Architecture & Blueprints: Designing scalable, future-proof SAP architectures and global templates.

Assessments & Reviews: Delivering comprehensive functional and technical assessments, technical specifications, and peer design reviews.

Governance Documentation: Authoring configuration guides and architecture best practices to maintain a standardized global template.

Compliance & Risk Reports: Generating risk assessment and mitigation reports for proposed architectural changes.
Technical Skills
Core & Domain Architecture

SAP Environments: Deep architecture and design experience across both SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC landscapes.

Integration Expertise: Strong capabilities in orchestrating integrations using SAP PI/PO, SAP Integration Suite (CPI), and/or third-party enterprise middleware platforms.

User Experience: Familiarity with SAP Fiori and UI5 frameworks to drive user experience enhancements and design modern interfaces.

Data & Modeling: Proficient in data modeling, process optimization methodologies, and solution mapping.

Enterprise Architecture Tools: Practical hands-on experience with the LeanIX tool for enterprise architecture mapping and application portfolio management.
Functional Skills
Primary Focus Areas

Core Focus: Deep domain knowledge and hands-on functional mastery of SAP MM (Materials Management) , MDG (material master, vendor master) and SAP Ariba is strictly required.

Direct Procurement Expertise: Specialized functional understanding of direct procurement life cycles, including raw materials, packaging materials, co-manufacturing environments, and intercompany supply chain processes.

Business Processes: Thorough understanding of foundational Procure to Pay processes including Invoice to Pay

Technical architecture knowledge: Robust understanding of SAP S4 technical architecture standards and key solutions available for Integrations (e.g. AIF, Solace, Asapio, EDI), analytics (e.g. SAC, Datasphere, Data Lake), AI (SAP Joule, Google Gemini, MS Co-pilot), security (GRC).
Secondary & Cross-Functional Knowledge

SAP SD (Sales & Distribution): Secondary knowledge of SAP SD is required for high-level cross-functional integration and understanding; deep functional expertise is not mandatory.

Open Text VIM solution expertise is required at high level as well as understanding of legal context of e-Invoicing from different governments.

Broad Module Familiarity: High-level familiarity with SAP Business network (SCC) and other Supplier Collaboration methods.

End-to-End Processes: Solid grasp of global end-to-end business processes spanning Finance, Procurement, Sales, and general Supply Chain management.

S2P EDGE landscape: High level knowledge of best of breed solutions in Procurement is a plus, e.g. HICX, ProcessUnity, Ironclad, Beeline, ServiceNow.
