Our NielsenIQ Technology teams are working on our new “Discover” platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients around the world rely on NielsenIQ’s data and insights to innovate and grow. Feeding data into the “Discover” platform are also a set of large scale applications that process millions of records of data every day.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll help manage our infrastructure and platform — designing resilient systems, optimizing performance, and automating at scale. You’ll be part of a team that takes pride in managing and owning the platform. Right now the platform for which we are hiring is based in Java, ExtJS (Sencha), Angular, Spring Boot, Tom Cat, Oracle, Elastic Search, Mongo, Azure Cloud and we continue to adopt the best of breed in cloud-native, low-latency technologies. We value CI/CD in everything that we develop. Our team is co-located and agile, with central technology hubs in Chicago, Madrid, Toronto and Chennai.
What you’ll do

Build, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure, primarily on-premise and Azure cloud.

Lead 24/7 on-call response for critical service outages and performing root cause analysis

Improve and standardize our CI/CD pipelines

Develop and maintain our Infrastructure as Code using Jenkins, Terraform and custom Bash/Python scripts.

Manage identity and access (IAM), SSO, and contribute to a security-first infrastructure posture.

Configure and administer Apache Web Server, TomEE Application Server, Elastic Search, Couchbase, Kafka and Terracotta EhCache

Configure dashboards, metrics, and alerts to detect issues proactively for monitoring and observability

Automate infrastructure provisioning and environment management for dev and production teams.

Define and monitor SLOs, lead post-mortems, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering
-
Strong hands-on experience with Linux, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, TomEE, Elastic Search and Terracotta EhCache
-
Solid grasp of SRE principles: reliability, availability, incident response, automation.

Good understanding of distributed systems and networking (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP)

Familiar with infrastructure security, access management, and compliance best practices.

Proficiency in Azure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) preferred

A collaborative mindset, technical leadership, and a drive to elevate engineering practices.
