In this role, you will turn complex data into clear recommendations, partner closely with product and business stakeholders, and help identify the opportunities that matter most for customers and for Hotels.com . We’re looking for someone with strong analytical judgment, solid technical foundations, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
What you’ll do
- Deep dive into Hotels.com customers and booking data to uncover patterns, diagnose issues, and suggest clear growth and optimization paths.
- Design, conduct, and analyze experiments (A/B tests, Pre/Post) for product and marketing initiatives, leveraging industry best practices and internal experimentation platforms.
- Develop and leverage a best‑in‑class analytical toolkit (SQL, Python, statistical and causal methods, experimentation frameworks) to extract insights and make data‑driven recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams ( Hotels.com Product, Strategy, Marketing, as well as other Analytics teams) to identify key business challenges and provide analytical insights and recommendations to support decision‑making.
- Drive action to improve Hotels.com KPIs (such as revenue, engagement, retention, and marketplace health), utilizing the 80/20 rule to focus effort on the most impactful results. Demonstrate creativity and persistence in overcoming roadblocks.
- Develop and maintain clear and user‑friendly dashboards and reports to track and analyze KPIs (e.g., customer value, engagement, campaign outcomes). Train stakeholders on their usage.
- Be curious and constantly monitor key metrics and trends to proactively suggest actions, test ideas, or highlight business opportunities for Hotels.com .
Who you are
- Mastery of SQL and experience working with complex data ecosystems.
- Proficiency in Tableau , with published dashboards serving as reference for the business.
- Proven track record in translating big data into strategic and actionable business recommendations ; driving end-to-end processes through data extraction, analysis, insight, implementation, and evaluation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills , with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Robust experience applying statistical methods and experimentation techniques such as A/B testing and Pre/Post analyses .
- Demonstrated experience working with Director + stakeholders to influence decisions and drive outcomes.
- Solid business acumen and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong technical foundation in analytics and data storytelling.
- Ability to appropriately visualize quantitative analyses for both presentations (e.g., PowerPoint) and reporting purposes (e.g., Tableau).
- Relevant degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or similar is preferred.
- Experience in e-commerce or the travel industry is a bonus
