We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated SDET QA Lead with strong techno-functional expertise to drive our Quality Assurance initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, responsible for defining and implementing automation strategies, achieving automation goals, and onboarding AI tools to enhance testing efficiencies and productivity. This role requires a proven track record in SDET practices, covering various project types and technologies, with a strong preference for candidates possessing experience within the Capital Markets domain
Responsibilities:
- Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive QA automation strategies aligned with organizational goals and product roadmaps.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of SDETs, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for automation, driving towards ambitious automation goals.
- Evaluate and introduce cutting-edge AI tools and technologies to further improve testing efficiency and product quality.
- Hands-on Automation and Technical Expertise:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automation frameworks and scripts using industry-leading tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright).
- Possess deep hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python and Java for test automation development.
- Implement and manage automation for various testing types, including functional, regression, integration, API, and performance testing across diverse projects.
- Demonstrate strong database skills (SQL, NoSQL) for data validation, test data management, and back-end testing.
- Ensure seamless integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Quality Assurance and Process Improvement:
- Work closely with development, product, and business teams to understand requirements, define test scope, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Establish and enforce best practices for software testing, quality gates, and release processes.
- Conduct thorough defect analysis, root cause identification, and collaborate with development teams for timely resolution.
- Contribute to the overall quality of software products throughout the entire development lifecycle.
- Project Management and Communication:
- Manage multiple testing projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing clear and concise updates on testing progress, risks, and challenges.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to resolve issues and optimize workflows.
Recommended Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET) and QA leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing successful automation strategies.
- Proven track record of hands-on involvement in automation framework development and script creation.
- Solid experience within the Capital Markets domain is highly preferred, understanding of trading systems, market data, risk management, or financial regulations.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in test automation tools such as Selenium and Playwright.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python and Java.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with SQL and relational databases; NoSQL experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured).
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
- Functional Skills:
- Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into effective test strategies and cases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to drive change and influence stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
