Job Description: Senior Automation Testing Engineer (WordPress Ecosystem)
- We are seeking a seasoned *Senior Automation Testing Engineer* with a minimum of *5 years of experience* in automated software quality assurance. This role is specialized for our high-performance *WordPress multisite architecture*, where you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of a complex enterprise-level environment.
- The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional automation testing and the unique nuances of the WordPress core, REST API, and custom plugin ecosystems.
- Key Responsibilities
- Framework Development: Design, build, and maintain a robust automation testing framework specifically tailored for WordPress multisite environments.
- End-to-End Testing: Develop automated E2E scripts using *Playwright, **Cypress, or Selenium to validate critical user journeys across multiple subdomains and network-wide features.
- API & Integration Testing: Implement automated tests for the *WordPress REST API*, ensuring seamless data flow between the CMS and external services or custom-built simulation sandboxes.
- Performance & Load Testing: Conduct automated stress tests (using tools like *K6* or *JMeter*) to ensure the architecture handles horizontal scaling and high-concurrency traffic effectively.
- Regression & CI/CD:* Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI) to ensure zero-regression deployments.
- Security Validation:* Incorporate automated security scanning to protect against common WP vulnerabilities (XSS, SQL Injection) within custom themes and plugins.
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience:* Minimum *5+ years* of professional experience in automation testing.
- Core Tech Stack:* Proficiency in *JavaScript/TypeScript* or *Python* for test scripting.
- WordPress Expertise:* Deep understanding of the WordPress lifecycle, multisite network administration, and how caching layers (like *Redis*) impact frontend state.
Modern Tooling:
- Hands-on experience with *Playwright* or *Cypress*.
- Experience testing *WP-CLI* commands.
- Familiarity with *Docker* for local environment orchestration.
- Database Knowledge:* Solid understanding of *MySQL* for data seeding and state verification.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing *PHP/Unit* for backend logic validation.
- Background in testing *interactive 3D simulations* or WebGL-based interfaces.
- Knowledge of accessibility testing (WCAG) within the WordPress ecosystem.
- Familiarity with visual regression testing tools (e.g., Percy or Applitools).
