About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Lead Python Developer / Backend Engineer to lead the development of our custom ERP platform and multi-tenant SaaS applications.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who can do more than write Python code. You will be responsible for designing the backend architecture, making key technology decisions, building scalable APIs and services, and establishing the technical foundation for a long-term ERP and SaaS ecosystem.
You will work closely with management and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable, scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop a custom ERP platform using Python.
- Design and implement a secure, scalable multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
- Take ownership of backend architecture and technical decisions.
- Develop high-quality, maintainable and well-tested Python code.
- Design RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases and data models.
- Implement tenant isolation, role-based access control (RBAC), permissions and security.
- Build business workflows for ERP modules such as accounting, inventory, CRM, HR, purchasing, sales and reporting.
- Design background processing, scheduled jobs and asynchronous tasks.
- Implement caching and performance optimization where required.
- Develop integrations with third-party APIs and external services.
- Establish development standards, coding practices and architecture guidelines.
- Implement automated testing, CI/CD and deployment processes.
- Work with Docker and cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor application performance, reliability and security.
- Review code and provide technical guidance to other developers as the engineering team grows.
- Troubleshoot complex production and architectural issues.
- Plan the platform for future scalability as the number of companies, users and transactions increases.
Required Technical Skills
Backend
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong expertise in Python
- Strong experience with Django, Django REST Framework, FastAPI, or similar frameworks
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture
- Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design patterns
Database
- Strong PostgreSQL experience
- Database design and normalization
- Query optimization and indexing
- Experience designing large and transactional databases
SaaS & Architecture
- Proven experience designing or developing multi-tenant SaaS applications
- Understanding of tenant isolation and data security
- Experience with authentication, authorization and RBAC
- Understanding of scalable application architecture
- Experience designing systems for high availability and future growth
Infrastructure
- Docker

Engineering Practices
