*1. Position Overview*
**Job Title** LKG Teacher
**Department** Pre-Primary / Foundational Stage
**Age Group Handled** 3.5 to 4.5 years
**Reports To** Principal/ Secretary
**Work Schedule** Monday to Saturday
Sundays are holidays. 2nd and 4th saturdays are holidays
*Purpose*: To facilitate holistic development of LKG children through play-based, activity-based learning as per DSERT _Chili Pili_ / _Nali Kali_ approach. Build school readiness with focus on health, habits, communication, and motor skills. No formal textbooks or exams.

*2. Key Responsibilities*
*A. Academic & Curriculum Delivery*
1. *Language Development*
- Conduct oral Kannada activities: stories, rhymes, picture conversation, action songs
- Introduce basic English vocabulary: body parts, colours, greetings through songs
- Pre-writing skills: Teach standing lines, sleeping lines, curves, circles using sand tray, ragi tray, slate
- Introduce Kannada vowels ಅ, ಆ, ಇ orally. English phonics: letter sounds A-Z, not letter writing in Term 1
2. *Pre-Numeracy Skills*
- Teach counting 1-10 using concrete objects: beads, seeds, stones, ice-cream sticks
- Develop concepts: big-small, more-less, tall-short, heavy-light
- Identify basic shapes, colours. Teach ABAB patterns using leaves, bindis, buttons
- *Method*: No notebooks. Only hands-on manipulatives
3. *Environmental Science (Parisara)*
- Cover themes: Myself, My Family, My School, Fruits, Vegetables, Animals, Seasons
- Conduct nature walks within school premises: garden, kitchen
- Inculcate good habits: hand washing, covering mouth while coughing, toilet etiquette
*B. Skill & Holistic Development*
4. *Motor Skills Development*
- Fine Motor: Threading beads, tearing-pasting, clay modelling, scribbling with crayons
- Gross Motor: Running, jumping, hopping, balancing, ball play, simple yoga
- Self-Help Skills: Buttoning shirt, opening tiffin box, wearing footwear independently
5. *Creative & Rhythmic Activities*
- Free drawing with jumbo crayons. No pencil pressure in first term
- Teach action songs, folk rhymes, and dance movements
- Festival-based craft using waste material: paper plates, dry leaves, cotton
*C. Classroom & Child Management*
6. *Classroom Environment*
- Maintain a colourful, print-rich, safe, and child-friendly classroom
- Follow daily routine: Circle Time → Language → Snack → Numeracy → Play → Story
- Arrange learning corners: Doll corner, book corner, blocks corner
- Maintain 1:20 teacher-student ratio with support of ayah
7. *Child Care & Safety*
- Support children with toilet training and hygiene routines
- Monitor health: Check for fever, cold, injuries. Maintain health register
- Supervise Mid-Day Meal/snack time and ensure proper eating habits
- Ensure no child is left unattended at any time
*D. Assessment & Parent Partnership*
8. *Continuous Assessment*
- Follow _Niranthara Moulyamapana_ – no exams, no marks, no ranking
- Maintain observation records and checklist for each child
- Create portfolio with photos of activities, art work, and craft samples
9. *Parent Communication*
- Conduct monthly Parent-Teacher Meetings in Kannada
- Communicate child’s progress with focus on strengths first
- Share simple home activities: “Count spoons at home”
- Send updates via school WhatsApp group: rhyme videos, photos

*3. Qualifications & Requirements*
