Job Description: Associate DevOps Engineer
Role Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and developing DevOps Engineer to help support our critical engineering toolchain. In this role, you will apply your growing professional expertise to help maintain and support our core CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms, including Jenkins, Artifactory, HashiCorp Vault, and GitHub.
Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will resolve a variety of issues for our internal engineering teams, following defined procedures to ensure the stability and reliability of our services. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer who is eager to build their skills in a complex, enterprise-level DevOps environment.
Key Responsibilities
- DevOps Toolchain Support: Assist in the administration and maintenance of our core DevOps tools. Handle routine tasks such as managing user permissions, responding to initial alerts, and performing basic configuration changes based on established runbooks and procedures.
- User & Incident Response: Serve as a first point of contact for routine support requests from our engineering teams. Troubleshoot common, well-documented issues related to CI/CD pipelines, repository access, and other developer tools, escalating more complex problems to senior engineers.
- Infrastructure Tasks: Use company policies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to execute routine infrastructure changes and deployments within our AWS environment, following general instructions for routine work.
- Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor the health and availability of the DevOps toolchain, review system alerts, and perform initial analysis on situations or data to help identify the scope of an issue.
- Documentation & Learning: Contribute to our technical documentation by updating user guides and operational runbooks. Actively build productive working relationships and learn from senior members of the team.
Required Skills
Experience: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a DevOps, SRE, or similar role.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD principles and exposure to tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
- Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts and some experience with Terraform.
- Foundational knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration.
- An aptitude for scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
- A proactive, customer-centric approach to problem-solving.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data and situations to determine appropriate action.
- Exercises good judgment within defined procedures and practices.
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to build productive, collaborative relationships.
- A strong desire to learn and apply new technical expertise.
