Immediate opportunities exist in QUALCOMM's Multimedia Audio Systems Group to work in the area of Voice AI.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be expected to work with a team of engineers to prototype and productize Voice AI Models such as ASR, TTS, NLP, Multilingual Translation, Summarization, Language modeling and other Speech/text generation tasks.
Develop, Train, and Optimize Vocie AI models for efficient offload to NPU, GPU and CPU Perform Model evaluation study and Competitive analysis with mutiple open source model variants, work on different model architectures Work closely with other R&D and Systems team for system integration, use case validation, efficient offload to HW accelerators and commercialization support
Requirements:
Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python
Experience working on ML inference optimizations
Proficiency in designing, implementing and training DL models in any high-level languages/frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX)
Knowledge of ML architectures and operators such as Transformers, LSTM, GRUs..
Familiarity with recent trends in machine learning (diffusion models, U-Nets, Transformer, BERT, BART, etc.) and traditional statistical modeling/feature extraction techniques
Experience working on Speech-to-text, Text-to-Speech, Speech-to-Speech, NLP applications in academics or industry
Knowledge of Model quantization and compression techniques
Expertise in developing and debugging software on embedded platforms
Knowledge of software design patterns and multi-threaded programming, Eg POSIX or PTHREADS
Knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and basic algorithms
Knowledge of fixed point coding
Experience working on any AI HW accelerator NPU or GPU is a plus

Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's/Master’s/PhD degree in Engineering, Electronics and communication, Computer Science or related filed.
2+ years of Audio Systems engineering or Audio Signal Processing modules or ML Model development or related work experience.
Targetted Companies: AMD, Cadence, Samsung, Intel, Harman, Mathworks, Bose, STMicroelectronics, Honeywell, Ittiam, Nvidia

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
