Job Purpose The Senior Civil & Structural Engineer is responsible for engineering leadership, detailed design, coordination, and technical assurance of civil and structural engineering activities for Oil & Gas projects, ensuring compliance with Indian or international codes, project specifications, safety, constructability, quality, and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibility Engineering & Design
- Lead and execute civil and structural engineering design for:
o RCC foundations (equipment, pipe rack, buildings)
o Structural steel (pipe racks, platforms, technological structures)
o Buildings, underground structures, paving, drainage
- Prepare and check design calculations, design basis, technical specifications, and engineering deliverables.
- Review and approve GA drawings, foundation drawings, steel layouts, and construction details.
- Ensure designs are optimized for safety, constructability, and cost.
Interdisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, E&I, and Geotechnical disciplines.
- Interface with licensors, PMC, contractors, and vendors.
- Provide inputs for piping loads, equipment loads, and interface requirements.
- Support 3D model reviews and design review meetings.
Standards & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with international and project standards such as:
o AISC, ACI, API, IS, BS, Eurocode
o Local statutory and environmental requirements
- Participate in HAZID / HAZOP, constructability and safety reviews.
- Address audit observations and close comments from clients and third party reviewers.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor and technically guide junior engineers and designers.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables prepared by team members.
- Support project planning, progress monitoring, and man hour control.
- Apply lessons learned and best engineering practices across projects.
Construction & Site Support
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
- Review and respond to RFIs, site queries, and change requests.
- Assist in resolving site related civil and structural issues.
