Full job description

Position: Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Navi Mumbai

Reports to: Associate

Functional specialism: Engineering - structural

Status: Permanent

Qualification: Master of structural engineering or Degree in civil engineering

Experience: 6 years post Masters or 8 year post Degree experience in structural analysis and design

Grade: 12 / 13

Job summary:

As a provider of structural engineering services to the built environment, RECI is committed to design excellence in technical solutions combining innovation, imagination and best practices delivered to international standards.

We require Senior structural engineers to provide structural engineering expertise on projects in India and the Middle East from our office in Mumbai.

Working with a technical team providing specialised services to our clients is a great opportunity to work on large and small-scale projects interacting with renowned national and international consultants on exciting projects in India and abroad.

Key responsibilities:

Prepare and take responsibility for concept and schematic engineering solutions for detailed design.
Project engineer – responsible for the overall structural design of particular projects.
Work independently and communicate directly with clients.
Oversee structural design and preparation of construction drawings to Indian, British and American standards.
Oversee on a day-to-day basis the coordination of the design of projects for which they have been appointed with other members of the design team.
Set up and manage project administrative systems, including planning, monitoring financial performance and adjusting them as necessary.
Ensure that arithmetical checks and independent design reviews of projects are done.
Responsible for the correctness and accuracy of own work and the work of his/her team.
Ensuring that the works are completed within the programme and allocated budget.
Oversee the checking of CAD work done under the supervision of engineers.
Give site backup on technical/design issues, where required.
Assist the team leader with other delegated duties such as technical specifications, technical memos and resource allocation.
Report to the team leader on any changes made during design or construction.
Assist with the preparation of offers as directed.
Mentor structural engineers and identify training needs.
Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety and quality management.

Requirements:

Degree in civil engineering or Masters in structural engineering from a recognised university.
Member of the Institution of Engineers (India) orchartered member of the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or civil equivalent.
6 years post Masters or 8 years post Degree experience in structural analysis, design and some site supervision.
Competent in the use of software packages i.e. Etabs, Safe, Robot, Stad, Prokon and the Microsoft suite of products packages.
Familiar with Indian, British and American Codes of Practice, such as IS 456, IS 1893, IS 800, BS 8110, BS 5950, ACI 318, AISC and IBC.
Be commercially aware.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication, presentation and organisational skills.
Have a flexible attitude to both the type of work undertaken and the level of responsibility accepted.
