Job Description

Job Title: Application Support - Salesforce

Job location: Gurgaon

Job Overview

We are seeking a Application Support - Salesforce to act as the primary owner for Salesforce support and escalations across the Sales. This role will lead issue-resolution managed through central helpdesk ticketing system, ensure business operational stability, and drive continuous improvement across Salesforce support processes. In addition to support desk ownership, the role will be responsible for Quality Assurance (QA) for Salesforce Sales Cloud enhancements and product backlog. This includes test planning, test case creation, execution of UAT cycles, and defect management to ensure high-quality and stable Salesforce releases.

The role also plays a critical part in change adoption, including preparing and executing calendarized training programs for new modules and enhancements, along with maintaining up-to-date SOPs, user manuals, and knowledge articles. The ideal candidate will work closely with Business and Process Owners, Sales stakeholders, and IT teams to ensure smooth production deployments through strong testing practices, structured support governance, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Support & Incident Management

Act as the primary escalation point for complex Salesforce issues and critical incidents across the sales ecosystem.
Lead problem management initiatives, including root cause analysis and preventive actions.
Drive continuous improvement in Salesforce support processes, tools, and operating models.
Manage and track support requests using Jira, ensuring timely updates throughout the support, development, and QA lifecycle.
Document issues, resolutions, and learnings clearly, ensuring effective communication with both technical and business stakeholders.
Create and maintain Knowledge Articles for recurring issues and propose training interventions where required.
Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach while adhering to organizational policies and SLAs.

Quality Assurance & Testing

Own end-to-end QA activities for Salesforce Sales Cloud modules.
Participate actively in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating with business users and stakeholders.
Validate Salesforce configurations including objects, fields, workflows, flows, validation rules, reports, dashboards, and security settings.
Review business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Design, document, and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test data aligned to business use cases.
Perform functional, regression, system, and integration testing for Salesforce enhancements and releases.
Log, track, prioritize, and manage defects in Jira, ensuring clear documentation and timely resolution.
Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and prevent regression defects.
Support UAT execution, issue triage, and provide release readiness sign-off for production deployments.

Process, Documentation & Training

Collaborate with delivery and IT teams to define and document support and delivery SOPs for Salesforce configuration, customization, and optimization.
Create and maintain SOPs, user manuals, and process documentation, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Plan and deliver structured, calendarized training programs for Salesforce enhancements and new modules for the sales team.

Mandatory qualifications and skills:

2–5 years of experience in Salesforce Support and/or QA/Testing roles.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, including end-to-end testing cycles in an Agile environment.
Strong expertise in incident management, issue resolution, and defect tracking, with exposure to user and Apex debugging.
Proven ability to drive process improvements and operational excellence.
Solid understanding of business processes and their translation into Salesforce solutions as per defined SOPs.
Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with Jira for support, defect, and test management.
Strong documentation skills with experience creating and maintaining SOPs and Knowledge Articles.
