Job Purpose
To drive growth and profitability of Industrial Projects by developing and managing corporate customer relationships, delivering tailored solutions, and ensuring effective account management and service excellence.
Principal Accountabilities
Operational Execution & Coordination:
- Manage end-to-end shipment execution, including planning, coordination, and delivery
- Ensure timely booking of shipments with carriers and vendors in line with project requirements
- Monitor cargo movement and ensure adherence to agreed timelines and milestones
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and overseas offices for smooth operations
Customer Service Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers for operational updates and queries
- Provide proactive communication on shipment status, delays, and issue resolution
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent service delivery
- Address and resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipping and operational documents
- Maintain proper shipment records in line with internal and regulatory requirements
- Adhere to compliance standards, SOPs, and customer-specific instructions
- Ensure timely system updates and documentation control
Billing and Financial Control:
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing in CW1 and E-billing systems
- Validate vendor invoices against agreed rates and services
- Coordinate with finance teams for timely processing of payments
- Support cost control and profitability by monitoring operational expenses
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with internal departments such as pricing, finance, and commercial teams
- Work closely with overseas network offices and agents for coordination and updates
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers
- Align operational activities with customer and business expectations
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track operational KPIs including shipment timelines, billing accuracy, and service quality
- Prepare regular reports on shipment status, performance, and exceptions
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Ensure performance aligns with business targets and service standards
Process Improvement and Team Support:
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer experience
- Support implementation of best practices and standardized processes
- Guide and support team members in handling complex shipments
- Contribute to building a high-performance, service-oriented culture
Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or related field
- 6-7 years of experience in customer service experience in the freight forwarding and logistics industry especially in Heavy lifts and Projects.
- Proven hands-on experience in handling specialized cargo, including: Break Bulk,Heavy Lifts, Over-Dimensional Cargo (ODC)
- Experience working with EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) customers and managing project-based logistics requirements.
- Experience engaging with sector-specific customer segments such as: Industrial & Engineering Companies (IEC), Mining, Data Centers and Semiconductor (Semi-Con)
- Demonstrated experience supporting both operational execution and customer/business requirements within the above cargo types and sectors is essential.
- Strong understanding of shipment execution, documentation, and compliance processes.
- Proficiency in logistics systems (e.g., CW1) and MS Office tools.
- Strong customer focus and service orientation.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
