About the Role
Anandi School is seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and nurturing Early Years Teaching Assistant to support young learners in a child-centered learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and hands-on experience working with nursery-aged children. We are looking for someone who can actively support teachers in creating engaging, play-based learning experiences that foster curiosity, independence, creativity, and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Early Years Teacher in planning and implementing engaging learning experiences.
- Assist in creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Facilitate play-based learning activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical development.
- Observe and document children's learning, progress, and developmental milestones.
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and daily activities.
- Encourage positive behavior, independence, and social interaction among children.
- Prepare and organize learning materials and classroom resources.
- Assist with indoor and outdoor learning experiences.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support each child's individual needs.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and child safeguarding.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree, Diploma, or certification in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with nursery-aged children (mandatory).
- Experience in at least one of the following educational approaches is highly preferred:
- International Baccalaureate (IB)
- Montessori
- Reggio Emilia
- Waldorf
- Play-Based Learning Curriculum
- Strong understanding of child development and early years learning practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Patient, caring, creative, and energetic personality.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting inquiry-based and child-led learning.
- Strong observation and documentation skills.
- Classroom management and behavior guidance abilities.
- Creativity in designing engaging learning experiences.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
