Netrix Global is seeking a VMware Infrastructure and Storage Engineer to implement and support our private cloud infrastructure across multiple data centers. This role is heavily focused on VMware-based environments, with additional exposure to alternative virtualization platforms and modern infrastructure technologies.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, understands how core infrastructure components (compute, storage, networking, backup) interact, and can troubleshoot complex issues across the stack. This is not a siloed role—we need someone who can operate end-to-end in a multi-tenant production environment, work independently, and adapt quickly while approaching problems with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Design, deploy, and maintain virtualized infrastructure platforms
-
Support and optimize compute, storage, and backup systems
-
Troubleshoot performance, availability, and capacity issues across the environment
-
Collaborate with internal teams on migrations, upgrades, and client onboarding
-
Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of cloud services
-
Build and maintain VMware-based environments (vSphere, ESXi, related ecosystem)
-
Support and manage converged/hyperconverged platforms (Cisco UCS, Dell VxRail, Cisco HyperFlex)
-
Design and manage storage solutions, including:
-
Fibre Channel and iSCSI architectures
-
Zoning and fabric design
-
Block, file, and object storage
-
Data reduction technologies (deduplication, compression)
-
Snapshots, replication, and recovery strategies
-
Perform capacity planning and performance tuning across compute and storage layers
-
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues spanning virtualization, storage, and networking
-
Support backup and disaster recovery solutions and ensure recoverability of workloads
-
Participate in infrastructure migrations, including potential platform transitions (e.g., VMware to alternatives)
-
Document configurations, processes, and runbooks
-
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (approximately one full week every 3–4 weeks) to support production environments and respond to critical incidents
-
Flexibility in working hours, including occasional after-hours or weekend work, to support maintenance activities, deployments, or incident response
- 5+ years of progressive hands-on experience administering and supporting VMware technologies in enterprise production environments, including vSphere/ESXi, VMware Cloud Director, and VMware Aria Operations.
- Demonstrated experience planning, leading, or playing a significant technical role in VMware platform upgrades, including vSphere 7.x to 8.x migrations and associated infrastructure lifecycle activities.
- Experience supporting, optimizing and troubleshooting enterprise private cloud or multi-tenant service provider environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage architectures and Fibre Channel SAN technologies, including zoning, multipathing, replication, snapshots, capacity planning, and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience administering and supporting one or more enterprise storage platforms, such as Dell Unity, PowerStore, PowerVault ME, EMC PowerScale, HPE Nimble Storage, HPE Alletra, or similar technologies.
- Experience with VMware automation and orchestration technologies, including VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator (formerly vRealize Orchestrator).
- Experience administering enterprise backup platforms, preferably Veeam Backup & Replication and/or Dell EMC IDPA/Avamar.
- Experience supporting disaster recovery and replication technologies, preferably VMware Cloud Director Availability (vCDA/vCAv) and/or Zerto.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory, including administration, troubleshooting, DNS, authentication services, and Group Policy.
-
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues across virtualization, storage, backup, networking, and operating system layers.
-
Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical issues, and drive them through resolution
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to new technologies and evolving infrastructure platforms.
Preferred Skills and Experience
-
Experience administering and troubleshooting VMware NSX-T components
-
Experience creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and Visio-based infrastructure documentation.

-
Experience administering Dell EMC Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA) environments.
-
Experience leading infrastructure projects, coordinating technical workstreams, or managing project deliverables.
-
Familiarity with alternative virtualization platforms and hypervisors.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM CT, US Business hours (Central) with on-call participation. The Shift may be rotated/changed based on support coverage requirements
