Full job description

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Sales Strategy

Target Achievement: Formulate and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Market Expansion: Identify and develop new markets, regions, and distribution channels for dry fruits and spices.
Client Acquisition: Prospect and pitch to large-scale buyers, including FMCG companies, food processing units, wholesale mandis (markets), and retail chains.
Pricing Strategy: Negotiate contracts and pricing dynamically, keeping in mind the daily/seasonal price fluctuations of agricultural commodities.

2. Key Account Management (B2B & Retail )

Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing key accounts to ensure repeat business and high customer retention.
Modern Trade & General Trade: Oversee product placement, visibility, and promotions in modern retail outlets (e.g., supermarkets, hypermarkets) and traditional wholesale markets.
Grievance Handling: Resolve customer complaints regarding quality, packaging, or delivery timelines promptly to maintain brand reputation.

3. Market Research & Competitor Analysis

Commodity Tracking: Stay updated on harvest seasons, yield reports, and global/local factors affecting the prices of dry fruits and spices.
Competitor Mapping: Monitor competitor pricing, new product launches, packaging innovations, and promotional activities.
Consumer Trends: Analyze market trends to recommend new product variants (e.g., flavored nuts, organic spices, cold-ground spices) to the management team.

4. Operations & Supply Chain Coordination

Demand Forecasting: Provide accurate sales forecasts to the procurement and production teams to ensure adequate stock availability without overstocking (which risks spoilage).
Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality control team to ensure products meet buyer specifications, especially regarding grading (e.g., W240 vs. W320 cashews), moisture content, and food safety standards (FSSAI, ISO).
Logistics Alignment: Coordinate with the supply chain and logistics departments to ensure timely and safe delivery of perishable/sensitive goods.
Payment Collection: Ensure timely collection of payments and manage outstanding receivables within the agreed credit periods.

5. Reporting & Team Leadership (If applicable)

Sales Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, pipeline updates, and performance metrics for senior management.
Mentorship: Guide and train junior sales executives or merchandisers on product knowledge, sales pitches, and market dynamics.

Ideal Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 4 to 8 years in FMCG or Agro-commodity sales (prior experience in dry fruits, nuts, or spices is highly preferred).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of agricultural grading, harvest cycles, shelf-life management, and supply chain logistics.
Skills: Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, excellent communication, analytical thinking, and proficiency in CRM software.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Overall revenue and volume growth ($/kg sold).
Number of new key accounts acquired per quarter.
Percentage of timely payment collections (Days Sales Outstanding).
Client retention rate.
Accuracy of sales forecasting.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
