Designation: Senior Accountant (Accounts HOD – Real Estate Sales)

Job Location : Kolkata

Experience: 10-15 years’ experience required (Real Estate company experience preferred)

Salary: 50000 to 60000 p.m.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Accounts to lead the organization’s finance and accounting functions. The Accounts HOD will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and team management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This leadership role requires exceptional analytical, managerial, and communication skills.

Required Knowledge & Skill

Education & Professional Certification:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
Professional qualification such as CA, CMA, or CPA is highly desirable.

Technical Expertise:

Advanced proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, etc.).
MS Office, Google Sheet
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory regulations, and corporate finance principles.

Professional Competencies:

High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines consistently.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Management:

Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and procedures.
Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, management reports, and budgets.
Provide strategic insights to support business decisions and growth planning.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Oversee vendor invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
Monitor receivables and ensure timely collection of outstanding amounts.

Accounts & Compliance Oversight:

Supervise all accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and corporate regulations.
Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely completion of statutory and internal audits.
Responsible for handling all bank compliance, documentation, and reconciliation as per banking and regulatory requirements.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Development:

Manage and mentor the accounts team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
Delegate responsibilities, review work, and ensure timely delivery of reports.

Process Improvement & Risk Management:

Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
Identify risks, improve processes and optimize financial operations for efficiency.

Stakeholder Communication:

Liaise with senior management, banks, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Present financial reports, insights and recommendations to the board or management.
