Job Summary
"Position Overview As an L2 & L3 Application Maintenance Engineer, you will be the first line of defense for production incidents and service requests across Siemens, ABB AB, and AutoCAD application ecosystems (Teamcenter, Opcenter, COMOS, ABB Ability™, ABB 800xA, MES/DCS platforms, AutoCAD-based engineering suites, and custom industrial extensions). You will triage issues, restore services quickly, perform runbook‑driven remediation, and ensure complete incident documentation. You will also support configuration/content updates and controlled deployments, contributing to platform stability, performance, compliance, and operational reliability across diverse industrial platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Incident & Request Handling
Monitor Siemens, ABB, and AutoCAD application alerts, dashboards, and incident queues; acknowledge within SLA and execute runbook‑based initial remediation.
Perform first‑touch troubleshooting across PLM, MES, Engineering, DCS/MES/SCADA modules, CAD-integrated workflows, UI rendering issues, access/visibility problems, workflow/job failures, and configuration rule errors.
Analyze multi-platform logs (Teamcenter logs, Opcenter services, COMOS logs, ABB Ability™/800xA logs, MES/DCS execution logs, AutoCAD plugin logs, OPC/integration traces), service/component failures, task crashes, and reported data inconsistencies.
Escalate to L3/L4 or Siemens/ABB product experts as necessary and maintain complete ticket documentation, timelines, and post‑incident records.
Source & Content / Configuration Operations
Execute Siemens, ABB, and AutoCAD configuration and content updates (UI adjustments, data/model attribute updates, workflow/task modifications, CAD metadata updates, MES/DCS parameter changes) under change‑control governance.
Support deployment activities (BMIDE imports, config promotions, ABB Ability™/800xA parameter deployments, AutoCAD library/content updates, service restarts, dataset migrations, validation, and rollback steps).
Manage service requests including user provisioning, role/ACL updates, workflow reruns, job restarts, CAD data updates, controlled corrections, and integration sync tasks—ensuring full audit traceability.
SRE Ways of Working
Adhere strictly to SOPs, runbooks, SLOs, and error budget guidelines.
Contribute to internal knowledgebase entries, troubleshooting guides, runbook enhancements, and known-error documentation for all three ecosystems (Siemens, ABB, AutoCAD).
Conduct platform health checks—component/service status monitoring, workflow/job queues, OPC/integration message tracking, CAD plug‑in performance checks, system metrics, and environment readiness validations.
Skill Requirements
Tools & Platforms
Experience supporting Siemens platforms (Teamcenter, Opcenter/MES, COMOS, SIMATIC IT).
Experience supporting ABB platforms (ABB Ability™, ABB 800xA, ABB MES/MOM systems, DCS/SCADA/PLC integrations).
AutoCAD administration exposure (CAD standards, templates, plugin behaviors, metadata handling, engineering data issues).
Strong ability to troubleshoot UI issues, role/visibility problems, integration failures (T4/TcRA/MOM/OPC-UA), workflow/dispatcher/DCS task issues, CAD data inconsistencies, and customization‑driven errors.
Hands‑on use of admin/engineering tools (BMIDE, Rich Client/AWC logs, ABB engineering tools, MES admin consoles, OPC monitors, AutoCAD logs), deployment frameworks, SQL diagnostics, integration monitors, and log/metric dashboards (Grafana, Kibana, or equivalents).
Mandatory Requirements
2–4 years of application support/maintenance experience across Siemens, ABB, and/or AutoCAD platforms involving configuration, operations, and L2/L3 support processes.
Strong skills in debugging configuration/customization issues, analyzing multi-system logs, workflow troubleshooting, integration/OPC monitoring, and repository‑based configuration management.
Experience with deployment cycles—BMIDE deployments, workflow/config promotions, ABB Ability™/800xA parameter updates, AutoCAD configuration/content deployments—and ITSM tools like ServiceNow/Jira.
Ability to manage L2 & L3 incidents, configuration updates, deployment assistance, and documentation with high accuracy and operational discipline.
Good to Have
Knowledge of Shell/Python scripting for automation tasks across PLM, MES, DCS, and CAD environments.
Exposure to Siemens Cloud (Teamcenter X), ABB Ability™ cloud services, REST/OPC-UA integrations, AutoCAD automation scripts, and performance tuning.
Understanding of Siemens and ABB data models, CAD metadata models, ACL/role structures, server/DCS components, workflow/event models, and ITIL operational processes.
KPIs
MTTA/MTTR for L2 & L3 incidents, SLA adherence on acknowledgments, ticket hygiene, and KB contributions across all platform areas.
% of incidents resolved at L2/L3, first‑contact resolution, and compliance with runbooks and SRE operational standards."
