Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT System Administrator to support the organization's IT infrastructure, BIM software environment, and end-user computing systems. The candidate will assist in maintaining a secure, reliable, and efficient IT environment while providing technical support to ensure smooth business and project operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance & Support:
- Assist in configuring and maintaining servers, networks, and storage systems.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and proactively resolve them.
- Provide IT support for BIM software (Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, etc.), ensuring seamless operation.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including network and system failures.
- Network & Security:
- Assist in maintaining network security measures such as antivirus updates, system patches, and access controls.
- Monitor backups, disaster recovery systems, and data protection measures.
- Help manage user accounts, permissions, and password policies as per company guidelines.
- Support data backup processes and basic recovery procedures.
- BIM System Support:
- Support the installation, updating, and basic troubleshooting of BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related tools.
- Ensure system compatibility for BIM workflows, including hardware configuration and software optimization.
- Collaborate with BIM teams to improve integration and performance of modeling tools.
- Cloud & Virtualization:
- Manage cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) for BIM data and collaboration under supervision.
- Support virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) for scalable project deployment.
- Automation & Optimization:
- Assist in developing and maintaining scripts and automation processes.
- Implement continuous monitoring and optimization of network, server, and application performance.
- Documentation & Coordination:
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors for software licensing, hardware procurement, and system maintenance.
- Oversee contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) for IT services.
- Provide first-level technical support (onsite and remote) for hardware, operating systems, basic networking, and standard business applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user incidents and service requests through the ticketing system, escalating complex issues to senior administrators when required.
- Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts, email mailboxes, and access permissions in accordance with company IT policies and security standards.
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including device preparation, account provisioning, software installation, and access revocation.
- Install, configure, maintain, and update operating systems and approved software on desktops, laptops, and workstations.
- Monitor BIM workstation performance, including CPU, RAM, GPU, and storage utilization, and coordinate hardware upgrades or system optimizations to support project requirements and large-scale BIM models.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience in IT Support, System Administration, Help Desk, or a related IT role
- Proven experience in supporting BIM tools like Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, etc, will be an added advantage.
- Technical Skills:
- Network administration and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Windows Server administration
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Microsoft 365 Administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Firewall and network security management
- User account and access management
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Hardware and software troubleshooting
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or MCSA will be an added advantage
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Endpoint management, antivirus solutions, and basic cybersecurity practices.
- Experience in database management (SQL, NoSQL) and knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
