Engineering Lead – Frontend Platform - 10+ years - Product Based

Experience: 10+ Years (Minimum 3 Years in a Lead Role)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Lead Software Engineer – Front End to lead the architecture, scalability, and technical direction of modern web platforms. This role requires deep expertise in React.js, frontend platform engineering, and large-scale product development environments.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing scalable frontend architectures, driving engineering standards across teams, and owning platform-level initiatives within product-driven organizations. We are specifically seeking professionals with strong product ownership experience rather than project-based or freelance delivery backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, architecture, and development of scalable frontend applications and shared platform capabilities.
Drive modern frontend engineering practices, including React architecture, state management, performance optimization, and component scalability.
Own frontend platform initiatives and contribute to long-term product engineering strategy.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams to deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions.
Drive architecture decisions and technical direction across multiple engineering teams.
Establish frontend engineering standards, best practices, and reusable design patterns.
Improve frontend application performance, reliability, observability, and developer experience.
Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across frontend initiatives.
Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and operational excellence practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Frontend Expertise

Strong hands-on experience with React.js (Mandatory).
Deep expertise in modern frontend architecture and scalable web application design.
Strong understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
Experience with frontend state management solutions and reusable component systems.
Strong experience in frontend performance optimization and application scalability.

Technical Leadership

Proven experience leading frontend architecture decisions across multiple engineering teams.
Demonstrated experience owning and scaling large frontend platforms or products.
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, maintainability, and platform scalability.
Experience working in product engineering organizations with long-term platform ownership responsibilities.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Micro-Frontend architecture or Frontend Platform Engineering.
Exposure to cloud-native environments and modern DevOps practices.
Experience with frontend observability, monitoring, and performance tooling.
Prior experience in high-scale consumer internet or enterprise product companies.
Exposure to backend technologies such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, or C# is an advantage.

Experience Requirements

10+ years of software engineering experience with strong frontend specialization.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or Engineering Leadership role.
Proven track record of architecture leadership and platform ownership in product-based organizations.

Important Considerations

React.js expertise is mandatory.
Strong product engineering background is required.Experience in platform ownership and large-scale product development is essential.Candidates with predominantly freelance, contract-based, consulting, or short-term project experience may not be suitable for this role.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per month

Experience:

Java/ Scala/ #C/ or Kotlin (Back End): 5 years (Preferred)
Team Lead: 5 years (Preferred)
Product Based IT: 3 years (Preferred)
Front-end development: 5 years (Required)
React JS: 5 years (Required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Chennai, Tamil Nadu
