Job Description – Senior SAP BASIS Consultant

Position: Senior SAP BASIS Consultant
Experience: 6 – 7 Years
Location: Bengaluru(Electronic City)
Mode of Work: Hybrid(3 days WFO)

Job Description

Lead end-to-end SAP BASIS administration across SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, and ECC environments.
Drive technical planning, installations, upgrades (support packs, kernel, DB), and complex landscape migrations.
Manage ABAP and Java stacks, including system installations, patching, and troubleshooting.
Provide hands-on DBA support for HANA, Sybase ASE, and MaxDB, including backup/recovery, performance tuning, and database upgrades.
Manage and maintain SAP new-dimension products such as BW, Portal, CRM, SRM, CPI/IS, GRC, and Solution Manager.
Implement and manage High Availability (HA) setups, system replication, and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
Execute system refreshes, client copies, transport management, and SAP archiving tasks.
Perform proactive capacity planning, system sizing, and database growth analysis.
Oversee change and release management processes using tools like CHARM, SOLMAN, and other ITSM platforms.
Administer and optimize SAP Solution Manager, including configuration, monitoring, and integration with managed systems.
Develop and manage custom UNIX/Linux shell scripts for automation and alerting mechanisms.
Monitor system health using EWA, CCMS, OS tools, and third-party monitoring tools such as Nagios, Dynatrace, and Azure Monitor.
Conduct and coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex performance and stability issues.
Ensure compliance through audit support, system hardening, and adherence to SAP security guidelines.
Lead cutover planning and downtime minimization strategies during go-live and upgrade activities.
Mentor and guide junior BASIS team members and develop internal knowledge bases and SOPs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, security, application, and cloud teams.
Maintain strong client relationships and act as a technical advisor during project discussions and escalations.
Be open to supporting 24x7 operations and handling critical incidents through rotational shifts or on-call schedules.
Stay updated with emerging SAP technologies such as SAP BTP, RISE with SAP, Cloud Connector, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
