Full job description

Job Summary

A South Indian Chef is responsible for preparing authentic South Indian dishes, maintaining food quality and consistency, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring hygiene and food safety standards are followed.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook South Indian dishes such as dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, sambar, rasam, chutneys, poriyal, curries, and biryanis.
Ensure consistency in taste, quality, presentation, and portion control.
Prepare dosa batter, chutneys, and other traditional accompaniments.
Manage mise en place and kitchen preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
Monitor inventory and coordinate procurement of fresh ingredients and spices.
Maintain food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards as per HACCP/FSSAI guidelines.
Train, supervise, and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants.
Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food-cost control.
Minimize food wastage and maintain efficient kitchen operations.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisine and regional cooking techniques.
Expertise in dosa, idli, vada, sambar, chutney, and tawa operations.
Leadership and team-management skills.
Time management and ability to work under pressure.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Inventory and kitchen management experience.

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
