Position: Engineering Manager – Digital eCommerce
Purpose
Amadeus is a global leader in Travel Technology. Our Bangalore R&D center is growing to support exciting, strategic initiatives in the digital eCommerce space. We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Engineering Manager to lead a talented team and deliver impactful solutions.
This role involves guiding technical design, ensuring delivery excellence across the software lifecycle, and fostering an environment of learning and innovation. You will partner with diverse global teams and help shape best practices for future-ready architectures.
- Lead a cross-functional agile team to deliver high-quality digital solutions on time and in scope.
- Define team objectives aligned with organizational goals and provide clear communication on progress.
- Guide technical architecture decisions, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders globally, providing regular updates on release planning and priorities.
- Encourage innovation, knowledge sharing, and process improvement across the team.
- Support professional development of team members through coaching and mentorship.
- Escalate challenges early and work collaboratively to find solutions.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, psychological safety, and open collaboration.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 11+ years of experience in software engineering, including leadership roles.
- Hands-on experience in full-stack development and architectural design for large-scale systems.
- Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, UI frameworks (e.g., Angular), web technologies (JavaScript, JSON, HTML, CSS), and cloud-based services.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, API and REST services, DevOps practices, and scalable design patterns.
- Experience working in Agile / SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environments and ability to manage global collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry trends such as cloud computing, AI/ML, and conversational platforms is a plus.
Preferred: Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager and major relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL) is advantageous.
