Job Summary
This role serves as the technical specialist and primary customer support contact, responsible for independently diagnosing, troubleshooting, and completing repairs on engines and related systems at customer sites.
The position ensures minimal equipment downtime through effective problem resolution, strong customer engagement, and proactive service support. It also plays a key role in training, warranty management, field failure analysis, and strengthening aftermarket service capabilities across OEMs, dealers, and service networks.
Key Responsibilities Technical Service & Diagnostics
- Independently diagnose and repair engine, aftertreatment (ATS), and vehicle-level issues at customer sites.
- Perform troubleshooting on engines, vehicles, gensets, and construction equipment.
- Utilize electronic service tools (e.g., INSITE) for diagnostics and issue resolution.
- Conduct teardown, inspection, and rebuild of components such as turbochargers, dosing systems, and fuel systems.
- Analyze field failures and provide detailed feedback to plant teams for corrective actions.
- Validate repairs to ensure complete resolution and prevent repeat failures.
Customer Support & Field Operations
- Act as the primary technical interface for customers, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Attend field failures (AIS) for BSIV/BSVI products within defined timelines.
- Support both Cummins (CMI) and non-Cummins customers in the aftermarket.
- Provide infant care support and manage emerging product issues in the field.
- Maintain strong customer relationships to enhance satisfaction and minimize downtime.
Training & Capability Development
- Organize and deliver technical training programs for OEMs, dealers, and service centers (CCCs).
- Enhance technical capability of service networks through guidance, troubleshooting support, and parts availability.
- Coach customer technicians on preventive maintenance and repair practices.
Warranty & Quality Management
- Handle warranty cases, perform root cause analysis, and conclude warranty disposition.
- Ensure defective parts are returned to the plant for detailed analysis.
- Maintain and update service records, incident reports (e.g., ePIR), and technical documentation.
- Support audits of service centers and implement corrective actions.
Operations & Compliance
- Manage parts and spares inventory at service locations.
- Complete all service documentation including job cards, reports, and system updates.
- Identify additional service or business opportunities at customer sites.
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and safe work practices.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in proper condition.
Qualifications
- Apprentice Certified Power Generation and/or Engine Technician (preferred).
- Vocational diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Relevant electrical certification (optional but advantageous).
- Valid driving license.
- Compliance with export control or regulatory licensing requirements, if applicable.

- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing engines and related systems .

- Understanding of industry practices and competitor products is an advantage.
- Experience with high voltage/low voltage systems (optional but beneficial).
