Overview
The role is responsible for driving DevOps practices across Corporate Markets platforms, with a focus on enabling efficient, stable, and scalable delivery of applications.
This position bridges development and IT operations, embedding automation, integration, and continuous delivery practices across .NET-based and SQL-driven systems, including legacy-modern hybrid environments.
As a DevOps Lead, the role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, ensuring that platforms supporting registry, share plans, and transaction processing operate with high reliability, performance, and control.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
- Contribute to the implementation of DevOps practices within Corporate Markets, aligned to business and technology priorities
- Support transition towards automated, scalable, and resilient deployment models
- Drive continuous improvement in software delivery processes and platform efficiency
Operational Management
- Liaise with stakeholders across MUFG and third-party vendors to support application platforms and integrations
- Work closely with development teams to ensure DevOps principles are embedded across design, build, and deployment
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications and SQL-based systems
- Support batch processing, job sequencing, and environment dependencies critical to registry and transaction platforms
- Select and manage tools for CI/CD, orchestration, and configuration (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, etc.)
- Continuously refine deployment and release processes to improve stability and speed
- Monitor system performance and ensure timely resolution of incidents and technical issues
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of production issues across environments
- Ensure high availability and support disaster recovery readiness
- Drive root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes
- Support after-hours and weekend activities as part of operational requirements
People Leadership
- Manage and lead a team of DevOps engineers
- Drive delivery ownership, performance, and accountability within the team
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support where required
- Build team capability through coaching and knowledge sharing
Governance & Risk
- Ensure adherence to MUFG technology standards, policies, and security requirements
- Maintain documentation aligned to standard operating procedures
- Raise and manage risks, issues, and incidents impacting business operations
- Support audit and compliance requirements

Experience & Personal Attributes
- 10+ years overall experience, with 7–8 years in DevOps / platform engineering roles
- Strong experience working with .NET applications and SQL-based systems
- Proven expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell)
- Experience with infrastructure/configuration tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies including Agile and DevOps principles
- Experience in batch-driven, transaction-heavy environments with sequencing dependencies
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
- Experience in financial services, capital markets, or registry/share plan platforms
- Exposure to monitoring tools (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus)
- Understanding of enterprise system integrations and data flows
- Experience working in legacy-modern hybrid environments (e.g., .NET monolith with modern DevOps stack)
