Responsible for designing and proposing integrated ELV and communication solutions by understanding client requirements, conducting site surveys, and preparing technical proposals, BOQs, and system designs. The role involves selecting appropriate technologies for CCTV, Fire Alarm, PA/Voice Evacuation, and IP Telephony systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (NFPA, UL, EN), and supporting the sales team through technical presentations and solution optimization. The Pre-Sales Engineer also coordinates with vendors and internal teams to deliver cost-effective, compliant, and scalable solutions, while providing technical support during project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Pre-Sales Responsibilities (All Systems)
Understand client requirements through site surveys, RFIs/RFQs, and technical meetings. Prepare technical proposals, BOQs, cost estimations, and compliance statements. Provide product selection based on project scope, standards, and budget. Create system architecture, network diagrams, and solution designs. Support the sales team with presentations, demonstrations, and solution justification. Coordinate with vendors, distributors, and OEMs for pricing and technical clarifications. Ensure proposed solutions comply with local codes, international standards (NFPA, EN, UL), and project specifications. Participate in tender reviews, technical evaluations, and pre-bid meetings. Assist project and engineering teams with design handover and technical documentation. Provide post-sales technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning
2. CCTV System – Pre-Sales Responsibilities
Conduct site surveys to determine camera types, locations, and coverage. Design CCTV layouts including lens selection, storage calculation, and network architecture. Recommend appropriate cameras (IP, PTZ, Thermal, ANPR) and VMS platforms. Prepare bandwidth and storage calculations (NVR/SAN/NAS sizing). Ensure cybersecurity considerations for network video solutions. Provide integration solutions with access control, BMS, and security systems.
3. Fire Alarm System – Pre-Sales Responsibilities
Study architectural, electrical, and life safety drawings to propose suitable Fire Alarm solutions. Select appropriate fire alarm panels (conventional/addressable) and field devices (smoke, heat, MCP, sounders). Design Zone Layouts, Loop calculations, and device distribution. Ensure solution compliance with NFPA 72, UL, EN54, and local civil defense codes. Provide integration design with voice evacuation, HVAC controls, BMS, fire suppression systems. Prepare cause-and-effect matrices and system operation sequences.
4. Public Address (PA) / Voice Evacuation •
Design PA/VA audio layouts including speaker distribution, power requirements, and zoning. • Perform basic acoustic planning (SPL, coverage, reverberation). • Select amplifiers, speakers, microphones, controllers, and network-based PA systems. • Integrate PA system with Fire Alarm for emergency announcements. • Prepare rack layout, wiring schematics, and power load calculations.
5. EPBX / IP Telephony – Pre-Sales Responsibilities •
Design telecommunication architecture including IP PBX, IP phones, analog gateways, SIP trunks. • Understand client call-flow requirements and prepare call routing plans. • Calculate capacity (extensions, concurrent calls, trunk lines). • Recommend network and QoS requirements for VoIP. • Integrate telephony systems with CRM, call accounting, IVR, and UC platforms. • Prepare solution presentations and demonstrations (softphones, video calls, UC apps).
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
