We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President, Financial Accounting, Data Science
In this role, you will:

Establish yourself as a Data Science and Transformation leader to help FA become “Future Ready FA”.

Independently lead and deliver for project/program management teams, internal process and business, delivery partners including CDO, IT/ITID and subject matter experts in support of cloud, automation and related deliverables.

Working collaboratively to identify standardization, simplification and opportunities within FA. Work using agile methodologies and tools like Scrum, Kanban, JIRA etc

Thought leadership for conceptualizing & delivering POCs by providing subject matter knowledge of advanced analytics & AI concepts when applied to transformation problem statements

Map the journey of successful POCs to full scale deployment & production

Develop best in automated solutions that minimise manual effort & use new technology that is easily deployable.

Thought leadership for conceptualizing & delivering scalable solutions through use of advanced analytics & AI techniques
-
Consult, mentor and guide fellow associates on more than two tools like JIRA, Xceptor, Appian, ARIS, Alteryx, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Fusion Insights and Qlik.

Design and implementation of a Citizen Developer ECO system and supporting activities for fellow colleagues in FA.

Build a roadmap and synergies between EUC remediation and FA and HSBC level automation initiatives.
To be successful you will:
-
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in problem solving in the field of analytics, data science process re-engineering or automation, is required for this role.
-
Robust hand-on working experience of handling large datasets in different environments. Ability to understand and analyse FA related data and reports with the ability to lead discussions aiming to improve and optimize existing business processes.

Identify opportunities to apply design led thinking approach to existing business problems to arrive at class leading solution leveraging existing or new technologies.

Robust hands on experience of working on SAS, SQL, R, Python, visualization tools and GEN AI toolsExcellent quantitative aptitude and understanding of data architecture, finance, and accounting systems – ability to work with large, complex datasets

Professional Certification in Data Science, Python or Alteryx, Professional Certification in Project Management like Prince2, PMP or similar

Knowledge on Agile tools like JIRA or similar - Professional Certification in Agile like CSM, CSPO or similar

Strong organizational, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills.

Advanced knowledge in project management and corresponding mapping to Change Framework, Certification in Project Management or in Agile.

Ability to manage entire testing lifecycle including defect management, test case generation, test planning and supporting documentation in line with Change Framework standards.

Ability to architect solutions leveraging existing HSBC systems using cloud and other inhouse technologies like Big Data etc. to solve current and potential business problem
