About the ASSURE (Accelerating Sustainable and Super-Efficient Real Estate) project
ASSURE is a joint initiative of the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, India’s premier knowledge institution working on urban transformation, and global next-generational digital services and consulting major and sustainability leader Infosys. ASSURE aims to transform India’s large, rapidly growing, and carbon and energy intensive real estate sector by promoting High Performance Buildings (HPBs) at scale.
In pursuit of its goal, ASSURE will, in the coming years, offer technical assistance to India’s largest developers for lighthouse projects spanning 100 million sq. ft., skill/ upskill 12,000 individuals, support 30 curated innovators, deliver a performance measurement and verification platform that incentivises HPB adoption and financing, and engage with policymakers and financial decisionmakers to usher enabling policies and financing arrangements for HPBs. In lighthouse projects, ASSURE works closely with developer teams to set realistic performance goals, guide technology and design choices, assist with implementation and O&M, and navigate financial and procurement pathways—ensuring successful delivery and operation of HPBs.
Job Description
We are seeking a project associate to lead the day-to-day coordination and management of multiple high-performance building projects under the ASSURE programme. The role involves ensuring project delivery against milestones, facilitating collaboration among technical and design teams, and supporting integrated, sustainability-driven design processes. The position requires strong organisational, stakeholder management, and communication skills, along with familiarity with green buildings and energy-efficient design.
This could be either a regular position or a 11- month contractual engagement, renewable on mutual consent, with the potential to turn into a regular position over time.
Activities and Tasks
Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Coordinating and managing multiple ASSURE-IIHS projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, deliverables, and performance goals;
- Serving as the primary liaison between internal teams, consultants, clients, and external partners;
- Planning and facilitating workshops, stakeholder meetings, and design charrettes for integrated decision-making;
- Tracking project progress, KPIs, and reporting requirements; ensuring timely communication with the leadership;
- Supporting the technical teams (MEP, façade, sustainability experts) with data collection, analysis, and documentation;
- Preparing and reviewing reports, presentations, and dashboards for project stakeholders;
- Managing knowledge-sharing and training activities, including webinars and capacity-building sessions;
- Identifying and mitigating project risks while maintaining quality and efficiency;
- Providing support to conduct daylight, glare, façade analyses and energy simulation using LightStanza, IES VE, or DesignBuilder, when required;
- Contributing to institutional activities including academics, research, training, and operations;
- Providing support to other IIHS activities including academics, research, training, practice, operations and others;
- Participating in all activities of institution-building at IIHS; carrying out tasks as assigned by IIHS; and travelling on IIHS work within or outside the country as and when needed.
Structure and Reporting
The project coordinator will report to the Lead – Technical Assistance, ASSURE at IIHS and will be required to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of internal teams and external individuals/ organisations.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Master’s degree in Building Science, Architecture, Sustainability, Project Management etc.;
- 1- 3 years of proven experience in managing building or sustainability projects;
- An understanding of daylighting, glare, energy performance, and passive design strategies;
- Experience in the use of LightStanza, IES VE, DesignBuilder, and 3D modeling tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, or Revit (with Grasshopper);
- Familiarity with green building rating systems and energy codes;
- Strong report writing, analytical, and presentation skills;
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
- Excellent teamwork, leadership, and communication abilities.
This could be either a regular position or a 11- month contractual engagement, renewable on mutual consent, with the potential to turn into a regular position over time. This offer is on an exclusive basis, which implies that other professional assignments (whether compensated or not) that bear a potential conflict of interest with IIHS cannot be undertaken.

Location
This position is based in Bengaluru and may entail travel to other locations in India.
Review and Assessment
The role and performance of the incumbent shall be subject to normal review and assessment systems at IIHS.
