JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly experienced SAP FICO Sr Consultant with 8–10 years of deep, hands-on expertise in SAP ECC environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in complex SAP FICO enhancements, and integrations, with demonstrated ability to manage third-party system coordination and deliver scalable financial solutions. Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Finance and Product Costing will be considered a significant advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enhancement & Development
- Lead end-to-end design and delivery of SAP FICO enhancements, custom developments, and user exits in ECC environments.
- Collaborate with ABAP developers to build, review, and debug custom programs, BAdIs, enhancement spots, and user exits.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable SAP FICO solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules.
Integration Management
- Architect and manage end-to-end FICO integration with other module (SD, MM & PS) and external systems.
- Own integration with banking platforms & government authorities for E-Doc & other legal requirements.
- Handle IDocs, BAPIs, and RFC-based interfaces between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Ensure seamless data flow and reconciliation across integrated modules and platforms.
Third-Party Coordination
- Act as the primary SAP FICO liaison for third-party vendors, system integrators, and external application teams.
- Define integration requirements and coordinate technical touchpoints with external financial systems (treasury, tax tools etc).
- Review and validate middleware/API designs involving FICO data flows (e.g., PI/PO, MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs).
- Manage change requests, defect resolution, and release coordination in multi-vendor project environments.
Functional Coverage – Financial Accounting
- Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) – end-to-end process ownership.
- General Ledger (GL) – new GL accounting, document splitting, ledger concepts.
- Asset Accounting (AA) – acquisition, depreciation, retirement, and fiscal year-end close.
- Bank Accounting – payment runs, bank reconciliation, EBS, DME configurations.
- Tax configuration – withholding tax, input/output tax, jurisdiction codes, E Doc.
- Cost Center Accounting (CCA) and Profit Center Accounting (PCA).
- Project System and settlement cycles.
- COPA – costing-based profitability analysis with BW.
- Interfaces, LSMW, BADI enhancement, File based enhancement, BAPI, IDOCs
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Able to own & co-ordinate for end-to-end change request.
- Maintain comprehensive functional specifications, test plans, and configuration documentation.
- Co-ordinate for UAT & cutover
- Provide KT to operation team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education
- CA, B.Com, M.Com, MBA (finance), BE or BTtech.
SAP Experience
- 8–10 years of hands-on SAP FICO experience, predominantly in SAP ECC 6.0 environments.
- Strong proficiency across FI sub-modules: GL, AP, AR, AA, Bank Accounting, Tax & E-Doc.
- Strong proficiency across PS & CO sub-modules: CCA, PCA, Project system and COPA.
- Extensive experience in SAP FICO enhancement development and configuration customization.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex FICO integrations with MM, SD, PS, and external systems.
- Proven track record in managing third-party vendor/system coordinator roles.
- Ability to read, understand, and debug ABAP code; familiarity with IDocs, BAPIs, and eDocuments.
- Experience with interfaces, middleware concepts (PI/PO or equivalent).

- Deep SAP ECC FICO configuration and customization expertise.
- Integration architecture knowledge across SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Understanding of finance and accounting principles, period-end close, and statutory reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel (advanced), and PowerPoint.

- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to present complex solutions clearly to both technical and business audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Client-facing experience with strong stakeholder management skills.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Candidates must be willing to work in shift timings (UK ) as per project requirements.
- Travel may be required for client engagements.
- SAP Certification in FICO (Associate or Professional level) is highly desirable and will be given preference during evaluation.
Nice-to-Have
- SAP S/4HANA Finance exposure – migration experience or greenfield implementation knowledge.
- Product Costing expertise – standard cost estimates, cost object controlling, WIP/variance settlement.
- Knowledge of Fiori apps for finance and S/4HANA universal journal concepts.
