We're looking for a Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineer to join our Platform Infrastructure Operations Team in Gurugram. In this role, you will be responsible for the operational health, maintenance, and reliability of the Kubernetes infrastructure and in-cluster services that underpin Anaplan's SaaS product offering.
You will focus on maintaining the stability and performance of our large-scale production environments. This includes participating in on-call rotations, responding to incidents, performing essential maintenance, and supporting our developer teams with Kubernetes related queries and asks. This is a hands-on role where you will work with a broad range of modern infrastructure technologies to ensure our platform is secure, resilient, and efficient. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager.
Your Impact
- Lead platform maintenance task, upgrades, and patching across our Kubernetes clusters and in cluster services to ensure stability and security.
- Design and implement automation efforts to reduce manual tasks and improve system reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, acting as a point of escalation for complex issues. Perform root cause analysis and participate in incident/problem management processes.
- Act as a technical lead, providing mentorship, guidance, and code reviews for junior engineers.
- Partner with engineering leads across Platform infrastructure to define the technical roadmap for the Kubernetes platform and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development teams, addressing queries and requests related to Kubernetes and infrastructure.
- Develop and improve observability by developing dashboards and alerting within Grafana to drive improvements in MTTD and MTTR.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience managing and supporting infrastructure in a Public Cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- In depth knowledge and operational experience with large-scale and multi-tenant Kubernetes environments.
- A solid understanding of Linux system administration.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tooling such as Terraform.
- Experience with Observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
- Software development or scripting skills for automation (e.g., Python, Go, or Bash).
- Proven track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining highly available cloud architectures.
- Experience working in an operational context, including an understanding of incident management and on-call responsibilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Kubernetes in-cluster services like Ingress Controllers (e.g., Traefik, Ingress NGINX), Cert Manager, and a Service Mesh (eg. Istio).
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Understanding of Agile/Kanban methodologies.
