Position: Area Sales Manager– Business Development (Male/Female) Solar Rooftop Project (C&I Segment)

Experience: 3-4 years in Rooftop Project Sales

Location: Jaipur

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports to: Regional Manager – Business Development

Job Description:

The Assistant Manager – Business Development for Solar Rooftop Projects in the Commercial &

Industrial (C&I) segment will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the solar rooftop solutions in the target market. This role involves market research, lead generation, proposal creation, relationship building, and project management. This role requires a deep understanding of the solar industry, particularly in the C&I segment, as well as strong business acumen and project execution skills.

Key Responsibilities:

o Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities within the C&I sector.

o Analyse competitors, industry trends, and customers need to develop actionable strategies for business growth.

o Stay up to date with the latest policies, government incentives, and technologies in the solar industry.

o Identify and generate leads through cold calling, networking, references, channel partner(s) and digital marketing.

o Approach potential clients and present tailored solar rooftop solutions that meet their energy needs.

o Develop sales strategies, proposals, and presentations for new business development.

o Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the commercial and industrial sectors.

o Act as the main point of contact for clients, offering solutions and managing the sales pipeline.

o Maintain a strong network with potential and existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.

o Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

o Work closely with the engineering and operations teams to ensure that proposals align with project execution capabilities.

o Coordinate with project managers for project feasibility studies and ensure smooth handovers from sales to project implementation.

o Track project progress and resolve any client concerns during the project lifecycle.

o Prepare and submit detailed, accurate, and competitive proposals to clients, highlighting project scope, cost, and timelines.

o Lead contract negotiations and pricing discussions to secure deals within acceptable margins.

o Develop and implement business development strategies for increasing market penetration within the C&I segment.

o Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities for additional solar services, such as O&M (Operations & Maintenance), financing, and energy storage solutions.

o Contribute to the company's long-term growth by identifying and developing new product offerings and services.

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, proposals, projects, and sales activities in the CRM system.

o Regularly report on business development progress, sales forecasts, and market feedback to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related fields (post-graduate education is a plus).

· Experience: 2-3 years of experience in business development, sales within the solar energy industry (C&I segment experience preferred).

· Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar rooftop systems, energy solutions, and the commercial/industrial energy market.

· Skills:

o Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

o Proficient in market research and lead generation techniques.

o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

o Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

o Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.

o Knowledge of government policies, subsidies, and regulations related to solar energy in the C&I segment is a plus.

· Personal Attributes:

o Result-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated.

o Team player with excellent collaboration skills.

o Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

o Passion for sustainability and renewable energy.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
