Hedge fund services- ASSOC Consultant, FUND admin, HFS

Role
The role involves working for Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, a global fund administrator, specializing in complex hedge funds and alternative asset investments. The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to problem solve in a dynamic, fast-paced and demanding environment. This individual will have a strong technical background and experience working on Data Migration projects. The role will be a key part of our hedge fund administration business.
Major DuTIES
-
As a subject matter expert, provide comprehensive, in-depth consulting and assistance to data migration and implementation team.

Maintain and enhance detailed migration plans outlining specific tasks to support high quality migration.

Detailed understanding of Xceptor tool and it’s features.
-
Expertise to create new features and report build activities using Xceptor.

Reconciling Xceptor Investor Services data with Investor data extracted from IRIS to ensure that all information on the application is of high quality and complete
-
Provide guidance on how to enhance processes to increase quality throughout data migration.
-
Analyze any discrepancies during migration and elevate them appropriately. Investigate root cause and provide suggestions on resolution.

Create and test customized investor templates and reports in Xceptor tool
-
Maintain all migration-related project artefacts, project plans and provide scoping and estimated timelines for larger scale migration requests.

Manage discrepancies, migration-related project risks, reporting, migration status meetings/updates and communications within project as well as to Project Managers/Specialists.

Responsible for providing timely response to queries and finding resolution to avoid repetitive actions.

Develops training curriculum and conducts training sessions for migration team. Provides ongoing technical assistance in training, mentoring, and coaching.

Works effectively both as a team member as well as an independent self-motivated individual.

Responsible for multiple projects of various complexities.

Establish, build and maintain effective working relationships with key partners.

Drives the engagement of other partners as appropriate to solve inquiries/issues of different stake holders.

Knowledge of Transfer Agency / Investor Services / Investor Accounting or Allocations

Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel is a must, Word and PowerPoint presentations are desirable

Understanding of AML, FATCA, Management fees, Incentive fees and other investor related regulations is required

Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to write business correspondence.

Proactive and capable to handle multiple tasks under extremely time sensitive conditions.

Excellent team management and motivation skills

Demonstrating that planning activities and decision-making are done with the appropriate consideration for the level of risk involved
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Finance, Accounting or Information Technology, Master degree a plus

Experience in Xceptor is Mandatory.

Around 4-7 years of work experience on software development projects or data migration projects or transfer agency
-
Experience with Hedge Funds, Investment Management and/or Financial Services a plus
-
Should be flexible for shifts and extended working hours.

Strong knowledge of the financial markets, instruments and back office functions.
