Full job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Backend Developer with at least 1 year of professional experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power our applications.

You will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers to turn design concepts and business requirements into robust, scalable digital solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer looking to deepen their technical skills and grow within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

API Development: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable RESTful (or GraphQL) APIs.
Database Management: Write, optimize, and manage database queries, schemas, and data models (SQL/NoSQL).
Core Logic: Implement core business logic, server-side data processing, and security/data protection protocols.
Integration: Integrate third-party services, payment gateways, and cloud APIs into the core architecture.
Performance Tuning: Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application code for maximum speed, scalability, and uptime.
Collaboration: Partner with frontend teams to ensure seamless UI/UX integration and smooth data delivery.
Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews to ensure high engineering standards.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 1+ years of professional, hands-on experience in backend software development (excluding internships/bootcamp projects, though those are a plus).
Core Languages: Proficient in the major backend languages/frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Express, JSON, PHP/Laravel).
Databases: Solid understanding of relational databases (like PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL databases (like MongoDB, Redis).
Tools & Version Control: Proficient with Git and version control workflows (GitHub/GitLab).
Web Concepts: Strong grasp of MVC architecture, HTTP protocols, authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth), and web security best practices.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field .

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Basic understanding of containerization toolsets like Docker.
Experience writing unit tests using frameworks like Jest, Mocha, PyTest, etc.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
