OVERVIEW:

A radiologist is a specialized medical doctor who interprets medical images (like X-rays, CTs, MRIs, and ultrasounds) to diagnose and treat diseases.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Requires a medical degree (such as an MBBS), followed by a multi-year residency program in radiology, and often 1–2 additional years of subspecialty fellowship training.
Licensure & Certification: Board certification or the equivalent medical licensing required by local health boards (e.g., state licensing boards, or the Medical Council of India).
Core Skills: Strong clinical judgment, high attention to detail, strong spatial visualization, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Image Interpretation: Review and analyze medical images to detect abnormalities, injuries, or diseases.
Diagnostics & Reporting: Translate visual findings into detailed diagnostic reports and provide them to referring physicians.
Patient Care: Interview patients to review their medical history, explain imaging procedures, and address any concerns or safety risks (such as contrast allergies).
Image-Guided Procedures: Perform or directly oversee minimally invasive treatments and diagnostic biopsies (e.g., using ultrasound or fluoroscopy).
Quality & Safety: Ensure that all imaging equipment functions properly and oversee radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
Collaboration: Consult with primary care doctors, oncologists, and other medical specialists to guide treatment strategies.

Pay: ₹33,815.39 - ₹60,800.00 per month
