Job Purpose:
The Senior IP Analyst is responsible for leading patent research efforts, including conducting prior art and freedom-to-operate (FTO) searches, and fulfilling technical and administrative tasks in compliance with ISO 9001 processes. This role is a progression from the IP Analyst position, offering increased responsibilities and autonomy. The Senior IP Analyst will play a critical role in managing complex searches and overseeing the quality of deliverables.
Key Deliverables

Conduct thorough prior art (novelty/patentability, validity, state-of-the-art) and freedom-to-operate (FTO) searches.

Develop and execute complex search strategies tailored to client needs.

Review and assess search lists and patent documents, ensuring high accuracy.

Draft detailed, client-ready reports summarizing findings and offering insights.
Fulfil technical and administrative tasks (Checker 1 and Checker 2) according to ISO 9001 standards.

Develop advanced search strategies that address specific client requirements and legal considerations.

Review search lists and analyze patent documents and technical literature to identify relevant prior art or potential infringement risks.

Depending on experience, conduct patent landscape analyses to provide clients with insights into the competitive and technological environment of specific industries or innovations.

Draft detailed reports that clearly summarize search findings, providing actionable insights to clients.

Complete technical evaluation (Checker 1) by reviewing search strategy and results for completeness and relevance, ensuring technical accuracy.

Perform administrative (Checker 2) evaluation to ensure client requirements, ISO 9001 compliance, and quality control are met.
Skills & Experience

Significant experience in patent research, including prior art and freedom-to-operate (FTO) searches.

Expert knowledge of the tools and techniques used to build effective Boolean search strategies.

Extensive experience in using global patent databases, including those offering AI search capabilities.

Strong background in technical subjects, such as engineering or science, to accurately interpret patent documents.

Expertise in conducting complex patent searches and providing detailed reports.

In-depth understanding of ISO 9001 processes and the ability to fulfill both technical and administrative tasks (Checker roles).

Ability to mentor junior analysts and ensure high-quality deliverables through oversight and collaboration.
