The Technology team consists of highly technical and business centric technologists with the ability to form strong partnerships across all of our businesses.
We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Integration Lead to join our engineering team supporting the firm’s Control Functions including Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Audit. This role is critical in bridging in-house engineering efforts and third-party SaaS platforms, enabling the delivery of cohesive, secure, and scalable technology solutions for stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in systems integration, enterprise architecture, data pipelines, and API management, with the ability to work cross-functionally across global product, data, infrastructure, and legal and compliance engineering teams.
- Solution Architecture & Technical Vision
- Define and contribute towards the end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise integration across Control Function domains (Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Audit), ensuring alignment with the firm’s broader technology strategy and long-term roadmap.
- Evaluate and select integration patterns—event-driven, API-first, batch, and hybrid—based on business criticality, latency requirements, data sensitivity, and total cost of ownership.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, design principles, and reference architectures that guide teams across the enterprise toward consistent, secure, and scalable integration practices.
- Lead technology radar and proof-of-concept initiatives to assess emerging platforms, middleware capabilities, and cloud-native integration services (e.g., AWS EventBridge, Azure Service Bus, MuleSoft, Workato) for strategic fit.
- Produce and maintain living architecture artifacts—context diagrams, integration landscape maps, data flow models, and decision records—to enable rapid onboarding and informed decision-making across engineering teams.
-
Systems Integration Engineering
- Architect and oversee the implementation of complex integrations between in-house applications and enterprise SaaS platforms (e.g., Compliance Regulatory, Surveillance, AML/KYC, Conflict tools, Legal Matter/Expense Management, CLM, Entity Lifecycle Management).
- Design resilient data pipelines, orchestration workflows, and API contracts that support real-time and near-real-time data exchange across heterogeneous systems with robust error handling, retry logic, and dead-letter queue strategies.
- Drive the adoption of API governance frameworks—including versioning, deprecation policies, rate limiting, schema validation, and contract testing—to ensure interface reliability at scale.
- Engineer secure data transformation, canonicalization, and enrichment layers to maintain data consistency and integrity as information traverses system boundaries.
- Own integration performance benchmarking, capacity planning, and optimization—proactively identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to meet evolving throughput and latency SLAs.
-
Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence
- Serve as the principal technical authority on systems integration, providing architectural guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to integration engineers and cross-functional development teams.
- Champion engineering best practices including infrastructure-as-code, automated testing (unit, integration, contract, end-to-end), and observability-first design.
- Contributes to build-vs-buy-vs-compose analysis for middleware, iPaaS, and integration tooling—presenting well-reasoned recommendations with quantified trade-offs to engineering leadership and business stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends in enterprise integration, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture—translating insights into actionable improvements to KKR’s integration capabilities.
-
Delivery Ownership & Operational Rigor
- Own the full lifecycle of integration initiatives end-to-end: discovery, requirements elaboration, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-production stabilization.
- Define and execute comprehensive integration testing strategies encompassing functional validation, performance/load testing, failover simulation, and data reconciliation to ensure production readiness.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident management frameworks for all integration touchpoints—ensuring rapid detection, triage, and resolution of data flow issues with minimal business impact.
- Partner in vendor technical evaluations, onboarding, and ongoing API/integration governance with third-party SaaS providers—ensuring contractual SLAs and technical standards are met.
- Supports cross-team delivery across product engineering, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity—managing dependencies, resolving blockers, and ensuring timely, high-quality releases.
-
Strategic Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the integration domain expert in strategic planning sessions, translating complex architectural concepts into business-relevant terms for senior stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Technology leadership.
- Partner with product owners and business analysts to shape integration requirements that balance functional needs, security/compliance mandates, and technical feasibility within realistic delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with enterprise data governance, cloud infrastructure, and information security teams to ensure all integrations adhere to the firm’s data classification policies, access controls, encryption standards, and regulatory obligations.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on integration priorities, capacity allocation, and sequencing through clear communication, well-structured proposals, and transparent trade-off analysis.
- Cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing by conducting architecture reviews, brown-bag sessions, and documentation sprints that raise the integration engineering maturity across the organization.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise systems integration, with a focus on solutions for legal, compliance, or risk domains.
- Strong hands-on experience in integrating platforms for Compliance and Legal workflows and solutions like – Compliance Regulatory, Surveillance AML/KYC, Conflict tools and Legal Matter/Expense, CLM, Entity lifecycle tools and platforms.
- Proven success in integrating SaaS solutions into complex enterprise ecosystems.
- Deep expertise in enterprise systems architecture (e.g., ERP, GRC, financial systems, SaaS platforms).
- Strong background in system integration patterns, APIs, data pipelines, and service-oriented architecture (SOA or microservices).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience working in regulated industries such as financial services or alternative asset management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models.
- Experience with event-driven architecture or low-code/no-code integration platforms.
- Promotes the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and encourages innovative problem-solving.
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
