The Role
Mainframe Operations Lead at Kyndryl are key in helping revolutionize the way we operate complex computer systems. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, supervise and control intricate networks and applications, and operate distributed systems in a multi-vendor environment.
As a Mainframe Operations Lead you will be on the technical frontline – performing batch operations as per service agreements, analyzing first-level issues across systems, and resolving/routing issues as appropriate. You will also have the opportunity to develop support system management processes specific to customer requirements, ensuring that we provide the highest level of service to our customers.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in Mainframe Operations.
Experience in IZWS (IBM Z Workload Scheduler) Tool.
Monitoring and maintaining production LPARS 24/7, handling all console-related alerts, and performing scheduled outages, IPLs, and clock changes.
Managing JES spool, diagnosing hardware and software problems, and informing the support team.
Handling service restoration teams and root cause analysis of abends.
Perform root cause analysis, resolution, and/or escalation for production systems (excluding business applications).
Perform automated startup and shutdown of the production operating system.
Execute production subsystem (e.g., IMS, CICS, DB2, IDMS) started tasks restarts, as per support team specifications during special activity changes and upgrading.
Should have good understanding of zOS operating system.
Should have experience working on HMC / Control-M / Netview / Netcool / CA7 / IZWS / TWS
Expertise in Job Control Language (JCL) and job abend codes.
Expertise in IBM z/OS, JES2, VTAM, TCP/IP, CICS, DB2, MQ, RACF.
Strong knowledge of batch processing tools Control-M
Experience with performance monitoring tools (OMEGAMON, RMF, SMF).
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Experience with scheduling software, reporting, and logging
Proficient with Operating Systems (Windows or Mac)
Experience with Troubleshooting, Backup/Recovery and Basic Networking
