About the Company
New Zealand Fresh & Natural India Private Limited is preparing to launch a new travel and hospitality platform called EthnicBNB.

EthnicBNB aims to create a space where travelers can discover authentic homes and meaningful cultural experiences. The platform will support a wide range of hosts — from small-town PG owners and family-operated homestays to boutique hotels and luxury villa providers in major cities.

Our vision is to make travel more personal by connecting guests with real people, real stories, and authentic hospitality.

As we move toward launching the platform, we are building a strong technical team that will design and maintain the technology powering the entire system.

Position: Principal Backend & Platform Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for a Principal Backend & Platform Engineer who will play a key role in building and maintaining the core technology infrastructure of our startup.

This role involves designing system architecture, developing backend services, managing cloud infrastructure, and implementing automation tools that will support the platform as it grows.

You will collaborate closely with the founders and development team to ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Engineering & System Design

Develop and maintain backend systems using PHP and Laravel
Design APIs and services supporting booking systems, payment processes, and platform operations
Build and optimize MySQL databases for performance and scalability

Automation & Intelligent Systems

Implement backend integrations and automation tools
Build intelligent workflows that improve platform efficiency and booking processes

Cloud Infrastructure & Deployment

Manage cloud environments using AWS, DigitalOcean, and Cloudflare
Maintain CI/CD pipelines through Laravel Forge and GitHub Actions
Monitor infrastructure performance and oversee system deployments

Security & Reliability

Maintain strong platform security practices
Ensure system uptime and reliability for critical services
Monitor infrastructure health and resolve issues proactively

Required Skills

Advanced experience with PHP and Laravel development
Proficiency in Python for automation scripts and AI integrations
Experience working with AWS, DigitalOcean, and Cloudflare
Strong understanding of DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines
Deep knowledge of MySQL database design and performance optimization
Experience implementing automation tools and intelligent systems
Ability to lead technical initiatives while remaining hands-on

Education Requirements

B.Tech / BE in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
