The Customer Reliability Engineer Role

As a Customer Reliability Engineer (CRE), you will move beyond traditional, repetitive tech support to become a strategic technical partner.
Instead of waiting for things to break, you will use data, automation, and proactive monitoring to ensure systems run flawlessly, empowering your customers to operate with total self-sufficiency. This is a highly collaborative role where you will connect the dots between customers, Product, SRE, and Engineering, serving as the ultimate advocate for system health and seamless user experience.

This role takes you away from daily firefighting and hands you the keys to build a smarter, more automated operational environment. You will spend your time designing sophisticated observability tools, diving deep into complex system investigations, and directly influencing product development.
- Building Next-Gen Observability allows you to design and own the high-visibility dashboards, data pipelines, and alert systems that serve as the primary lens through which global system performance is measured.
Driving Engineering Automation gives you the creative freedom to write scripts and build automation that eliminates tedious manual tasks, leaving you with more time to solve high-value technical challenges.
Influencing Product Strategy positions you at the crossroads of customer reality and engineering, ensuring your insights directly shape product roadmaps and turn real-world feedback into permanent platform improvements.
Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:
In this role, you will be a critical driver in shifting our entire customer operations ecosystem from a reactive model to a proactive, automated powerhouse. Your work will directly scale our efficiency and drastically improve the customer experience.
Championing Proactive Reliability means you will build predictive monitoring and automated resolution workflows to stop issues before they happen, allowing our users to scale confidently and independently.
Bridging the Engineering Gap allows you to foster seamless collaboration across Product, SRE, and Support teams, translating complex observability data into clear technical guidance that elevates the entire organization's capabilities.
Solving the Break-Fix Cycle makes it your core mission to resolve the challenge of operational noise, transforming raw telemetry into meaningful metrics that protect system health and build lasting customer trust.
We’re looking for a teammate with:

3+ years in Technical Support, BI Development, Customer Operations, Customer Success Engineering, or other data-focused roles.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Experience working in a microservices environment

Experience working with data systems or pipelines (e.g., Kafka, Snowflake, data lakes)

Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes

Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.).

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a data-driven mindset

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers

Ability to manage multiple tasks and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

High level of ownership, proactivity, and attention to detail

Basic scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation or data manipulation.

Ability to design and maintain data models, log pipelines, and internal decision-making databases.
