Role description
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual Tester with strong Salesforce testing expertise to join our QA team. Exposure to automation testing tools and frameworks will be an added advantage.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end functional, integration, and UAT testing across Salesforce implementations, with a focus on Consumer Goods Cloud projects. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, developers, and customers to ensure high-quality, defect-free releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, write, and execute detailed test cases and test scripts based on business requirements and user stories for Salesforce implementations.
- Perform functional testing of Salesforce modules including Leads, Accounts, Opportunities, Quotes, and custom objects/workflows.
- Conduct integration testing across Salesforce and third-party/external systems (ERP, ordering systems, WhatsApp/BSP, ID verification tools, etc.).
- Perform API testing using Postman to validate request/response payloads, status codes, authentication, and data integrity across integrations.
- Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles — coordinate with business users, walk them through test scenarios, and capture sign-off.
- Log, track, and manage defects through to closure using defect management/bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, Salesforce-native tools), including clear reproduction steps, severity/priority classification, and root cause notes.
- Validate Salesforce configuration changes (objects, fields, page layouts, flows, validation rules, permission sets, profiles) using admin-level understanding of the platform.
- Collaborate with automation engineers to understand and, where needed, execute or review automated test scripts built using automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools
- Communicate testing status, risks, and blockers clearly and proactively to internal stakeholders and customers, including test summary reports and sign-off documentation.
- Participate in requirement/design walkthroughs to proactively identify testability gaps and edge cases early in the lifecycle.
- Support regression testing during sprint releases, hotfixes, and major version upgrades.
- Maintain test documentation, including test plans, traceability matrices, test case repositories, and defect logs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in manual testing, with a significant portion of that on Salesforce platform testing.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce Administration, including objects, fields, flows, validation rules, page layouts, profiles/permission sets, and standard CRM business processes (Lead-to-Opportunity, Account Management, etc.).
- Hands-on experience in API testing using Postman (collections, environments, assertions, request chaining).
- Working knowledge of at least one test automation tool (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar) with the ability to read, understand, and contribute to automated test scripts.
- Solid experience in integration testing across multi-system landscapes (Salesforce + external APIs/third-party platforms).
- Proven experience driving and supporting UAT cycles with business/customer stakeholders.
- Strong skills in defect/bug reporting — clear, reproducible, well-documented defects with appropriate severity and priority tagging.
- Excellent customer communication skills — comfortable presenting test results, conducting UAT walkthroughs, and managing stakeholder expectations directly.
- Strong understanding of the Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) and Defect Lifecycle.
- Ability to write clear, structured test cases from Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) or user stories.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and understanding of how testing activities integrate into deployment processes (e.g., Copado, Gearset, Azure DevOps)
- Basic SQL/SOQL knowledge for backend data validation.
- Exposure to mobile app testing (Salesforce Mobile / Field Service Apps).
