Job Description:
The Upstream Planning Leader is responsible for organizing and optimizing upstream supply chain flows with suppliers to enhance overall supplier performance. The role ensures accurate forecasting, efficient logistics management, and consistency in key supply chain parameters to support plant operations and business continuity.

Organize and manage upstream flows with suppliers to improve supply chain performance (ISSR, S-OTD, UBOL).

Set, validate, and release supplier forecasts.
-
Define and manage logistics terms and conditions with suppliers.
-
Ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of supply parameters such as:
-
Replenishment lead time
-
Order quantity and batch size
-
Delivery frequency
-
Stocking policies
-
Organize and optimize procurement of components in alignment with SPS principles from supplier to plant usage (physical and information flows).

Collaborate closely with logistics (LWS4) to streamline operations.
-
Manage:
-
Logistics solutions and packaging
-
Batch sizing and lead times
-
ABC/FM/R analysis
-
Components stocking policies and consignment stock
-
Oversee OFO (Order Fulfillment Optimization) and Purchase-to-Order parts.
-
Ensure gap management between forecasts and actual demand.
-
Own supplier forecasting processes and ensure forecast accuracy.
-
Align supplier forecasts with real demand and mitigate discrepancies.
-
Monitor and improve upstream supply chain performance.
-
Develop local supplier capabilities and competencies (Material Management, SPS).

Conduct supplier capacity assessments and collaborate with procurement to:

Resolve bottlenecks
-
Increase supplier capacity
-
Drive localization initiatives
-
Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on SPS/SIM principles.

Improve key KPIs such as:

S-OTD (Supplier On-Time Delivery)
-
UBOL (Unreliable Back Order Lines)
-
MOQ/LTA
-
DIG/NIN RM & UHS
-
Apply Lean supply chain tools (VSM, E-VSM) to enhance efficiency.

Lead containment, corrective, and preventive actions using 8D methodology.
-
Escalate critical supplier supply chain issues to SQLD when required.
-
Ensure implementation of supplier management rules and standards.

Oversee:

PPEP processes
-
Supplier transfer/disengagement
-
SAM audits
-
Contract and logistics terms
-
Establish and streamline upstream supply chain flows for new product launches.
