Divisional Overview:
The Asia Trading Systems Support team is part of the Production Services organisation. It is a prestigious, highly skilled, technical and business-facing team within Nomura, spanning across India, Australia, and Hong Kong. The team provides trading technology services to Nomura's electronic, portfolio trading, and high-touch sales teams across the region. Collaborating globally with US and EU regions, TSS strives to improve, build, and architect Nomura's trading platform to become the leading example of all execution trading platforms. Serving as the critical bridge between technology and the trading business, TSS combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial awareness to deliver real-time production support, platform engineering, and strategic enhancements that empower traders and drive superior execution outcomes for clients.

GES Production Support India team is an integral part of the global team, which is spread across US, UK, HK and India. It works in partnership with the regions to deliver technology solutions for global execution business (Instinet).

Role & Responsibilities:

We put our clients and users of our execution trading platform first. The financial industry is always changing and we need Trading Support Analysts who are passionate about tackling technology and workflow problems that lead to the best customer experience.
In the role, you will work with development, product and business users to deliver stability, control and trading solutions to our core trading platform. You can interpret, diagnose and define problems, apply creativity and critical thinking with a thirst for learning about technology and its application in trading.
Above all, you are a team-player with the ability to communicate ideas/solutions to your teammates with a passionate drive to explore your curiosity and improve the trading platform.
We continuously evolve our execution trading platform with the aim to deliver an unparalleled user experience and trading platform performance. You could be working on any number of products and projects on the core trading platform. Duties & responsibilities (includes but is not limited to):
- Manage Asia Trading support team in India, Leadership and Lead by example
- Stakeholder engagement and collaboration - Provide regular updates regarding status or progress made to managers and stakeholders.
- Process improvement and governance
- Investigate and resolve issues methodically with a sense of urgency and a high-level of professionalism
- Understand financial markets, technology, trading applications and the trade lifecycle in depth
- Stay current with financial and technological trends, regulations and best practices
- Work collaboratively with regional and global teams as needed across trading, technology, risk and compliance to deliver strategic and client-driven solutions for some of the largest and most prestigious institutional clients in the industry
- Monitor, analyze and maintain the health of the Nomura GES core trading platform
- Hands-on deployment of trading applications preparation, execution and verification
- Generate reports on system performance and upon business requirements
- Focus on efficiency and sustainable support that can scale
- Shift:
- Mon to Friday 7.00 am IST to 4.00 pm IST
- Mon to Friday 8.30 am IST to 5.30 pm IST
- Weekend support – Saturday, as required. A comp off is provided in lieu of full day weekend support
Mandatory Skill Set :
- Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience as a Trading System Analyst
- Familiarity with front-end trading applications
- Solid understanding of cash equities market, software and trading lifecycles
- FIX support
- Proficient in Unix and Python scripting
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, and collaboration tools
- Incident/Outage Management
- Exposure to release management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (as this is a trading desk facing role)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to multi-task while remaining detail oriented.
- Highly proactive and takes initiative to identify problem areas to evolve solutions.
Client focused and attentive to business-critical issues
Desired Skill Set :
- Working knowledge of Java
- Basic SQL
- Prior experience on automation of any support processes is a plus.
- Exposure to using AI tools like Co-Pilot, Claude etc
